Happy birthday, Bob, BTW, there's a helicopter in your yard... This week's MMP

Sorry about the gas leak, Buns. :frowning:

I was craving a BLT for brekkie, so I made a whole pound of bacon, and we had BELT’s for breakfast. (bacon, EGG, lettuce and tomato) And we have a bunch of leftover bacon for later in the week.

I miss Dipsey! I told y’all that I took him to the SPCA yesterday? He will be out of jail, all vaccinated and nutless, on Tuesday. He will be all mine then!

Back from Fredburg. Daughter should be about halfway to Hungry Mother State Park, where the conference/seminar is being held. She’ll be leaving some time after lunch on Friday, so she’ll be home that evening. Then 2 weeks off till she has to report to school, and 3 weeks till school starts.

**FCD **is futzing in the garage. I’m going to finish reading my comics, then assume the knit position in front of the TV - I intend to chill a lot today. Because I can. So there. :stuck_out_tongue:

**swampy **- martinis for breakfast?? You old geezer lush!

Yeah, it looks like we’ll be towing it again. I crawled under there about 5 times. My dad suggested starting it up again to see where the leak was from. I turned it on for less than a minute and back off and it was pouring out of the line. Whee!!

Hooray for Dipsey, Rebo!

I went to an Atlantic League game last night. The game was meh, as you’d expect, but the Grucci Fireworks display afterward was awesome. I’ll try an upload a video later so all y’all can enjoy it too.

Good morning everyone.

Sorry about the party van woes, Sticky.

We were having a great time at our friends’ home last night, until one of their guests started acting like a total asswipe. We’ve had the misfortune to meet him before, but we were trying to be nice. His wife is great; I really like her, but this guy…well, there are few people I truly dislike and who give me the creeps, and he is one of them.

He pulled all kinds of stupid shit last night, deliberately breaking our friends’ stemware, egging my husband on, touching me and another female guest inappropriately (firmly dealt with, btw), and several other things.

The good news is we won’t have to see this asstard again. He’s been banned from our friends’ home. Sadly, this means excluding his wife, whom I really like. She’s great; witty, funny, intelligent (except for her choice of husband).

They finally left, thank God, and the rest of us stayed up until four in the morning. We crashed on their couch for awhile and then came home at 7:30 this morning.

I’m caffienating now.

That’s awful, Taters.

Sounds like towing is quite necessary, Sticky. :frowning:

Yay for Dipsey!

Silly cat safety video by Allie Brosh of Hyperbole and a Half. (There was a thread about her Alot post a while back.

Need to find some lunch and then I’m going to read for a while.

Hugs.

GT

Sorry about the continuin’ van problems StickyBuns.

Yay for Dipsey Rebo!

Taters there are a few people banned from da cave for just such behavior. When I say don’t do that in my house I mean it.

gt I’ve always suspected that about cats.

I have been cleanin’ da cave. After deheathenization we had lunch and OYKW went to his place to do laundry and such. So I decided to clean. I am happy to report sanitization has taken place.

Sadly, the wife of the couple who hosted us last night is really good friends with the asstard’s wife. They golf together two or three times a week (not with asstard).

I felt bad because they felt the need to apologize for this guy’s bad behaviour. We tried to tell them it wasn’t their fault at all. They both said that idiot is never to set foot in their home again.

I honestly believe there’s some abuse going on, and his behaviour seems designed to make sure his wife is isolated even more. They’ve had some tough times: the wife was laid off from six figure a year job two years ago, and now there are some real money issues. Asstard told the hubby he drinks at least one bottle of wine a night, sometimes more, by himself, EVERY night.

He also told my husband and the husband of the couple who hosted us that he wished he had a gun so he could take care of certain things. ALARM BELLS!! You know what? I’m afraid he’d take not only himself out, but the wife too.

He’s condescending and rude. He tried doing that to me and found out that I’ll tell him in less than heartbeat he’s being an ass. I don’t use those words, but the message is loud and clear. He brags about how intelligent he is. :dubious::rolleyes: Yeah, maybe he is a math whiz, but he has absolutely no common sense, and no sense of how to behave in public.

He seems to have a real thing against my husband and goes out of his way to be unnecessarily snarky and rude to my husband. My husband tries to blow it off, but geeze.

There’s so much more, but this would turn into a book.

I’m just glad we never have to see this asshole again.

Dang, Taters, that guy sounds like a real piece of work. It’s good that he’s out of your circle of friends, but too bad that his wife is part of the deal. I hope she’ll be ok…

Daughter arrived safely at the park. In fact, she was the first one assigned to her cabin, so she grabbed the big bed. She was wondering if she’d get an older roomie who would raise a stink.

My day is winding down. I’m going to work on my latest baby afghan for a while, then get to bed early, I hope. I needs my beauty sleep, seriously.

Anyway, I’ma gonna turn off this machine now, so I’ll see y’alls in the next MMP!

:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:MWAH!:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

Okay, well, when the tow truck finally showed up 1 1/2 hours later, there were two people in it so they couldn’t take us both back to TVLand with the van. :dubious: As a result, TVMan and I walked to a restaurant across the street and had lunch while we waiting for my poor mom to drag herself out of the house on her day off and take us back to TVLand in her car. Then there was grocery shopping and transferring of stuff and then driving back home and unloading the cars. Now, I’m boiling some chicken for tomorrow and relaxing.

I took Tisiphone to the vet yesterday for her health exam for pet insurance. The vet remarked how “lively” she was about 5 times. Tisiphone is perfectly healthy and doesn’t need to go back until next year. After 2 years of frequent vet visits, that sounds wonderful.

I’ve been following an international knitting drama all weekend. It’s a 5 to 8 tab drama, and the event hasn’t even started yet! So far, one person has been deported and there may be more to come. I thought I seen everything with knitting drama, but apparently there’s always room to improvise. What did people do for entertainment before the internet?

You’re going to ax-murder me with a boiled chicken? Doesn’t the rule book call for a rubber chicken for stuff like that? Or does the death of the van change plans?

For all and sundry and especially Doggio, I blew a water pump today so most roaming is going to be VIA Harley. Just fair warning that it could limit the running to and fro maybe. You are welcome to second seat and I have never lost or injured a passenger. Married one ------ but that’s another story.

This has not been a stellar car day in Mumperville. Mumperberg? Mumperania? Something like that.

blurf

I don’t even know as of this late hour what’s going on. The dead van does not change the plan because that’s not our main mode of transport. The fact that I got an actual order for lunch changes things. If we come, it will be later in the day which is probably actually better, [del]axe murderly[/del] socially speaking. It’s just a whirl of excitement 'round here.

ETA: Not one darn lunch all last week and the day we make plans…

I’m almost scared to ask: linky?

Have been pretty lazy today, compared to earlier in the week. I’ve knit quite a bit and started reading a book and am currently uploading some pictures for the next MMP.

Also, am looking forward to reports from the [del]ax-murdering[/del] Mumpfest.

Back to knitting and MMP-writing and such.

Hugs.

GT

We won’t be heading off to get murdered tomorrow. Personally, I’m pushing for Wednesday so it can be a double [del]murder[/del] greeting.

OMG! OMG! OMG!

The owner showed up tonight. We told her we thought he was with her. “He’s not here.” “Where is he?” “We don’t know where he is.” “Do you really want to do this?” “Yes.”

She called the cops. We let him in to inspect the premises for Dipsey. We told him we didn’t know where he was, we thought he was with them. If we had told him the truth, he would have told her he was at the SPCA. we told him how they let him run loose, and Whow flaky they are.

Oh jeez. We lied to the cops. And I turned him over to the SPCA with his real name.

Please, lord, let this all work out…

Prayers and good vibes requested, please!

Cool deal!!! Will have the ax and rubber chicken sharpened and will probably be around the phone from like noon-ish on. If I can drop off the Amish Taxi I am sure it would be way before then.

Lots of good vibes headed in your direction, Rebo.

Am sleepy and am therefore crawling into bed.

New MMP will be up as early as I can manage it in the morning.

Hugs.

GT

What? No one is up yet? I’ll have the next MMP up in a few minutes.
