I know the Chinese version is on this computer somewhere… ah yes, here it is:

“Guung juuk nay fook sow yuen teen tsai, hing hong nay sun sun fie lok. Leen leen doe yao gum yut, suuy doe yao gum jzew, guung hay nay! Guung hay nay!!!”

(basically, “We congratulate you today, good luck this year, and have a happy birthday”… of course, my Chinese isn’t that great, so that may be wrong, but I think that’s what it generally means)

I have a list of 155 ways to say “Happy Birthday,” but I won’t post it here. Most of it would be incomprehensible, anyway, and I’d miss more than a few accents and things, I’m sure! (besides, I’m too lazy to type it out just now ;))

I’ve always liked your writing style, Scott: it’s so honest and forthright. Not everyone can write like that, and I sometimes with I could, but everyone has their own style, right? :slight_smile: I feel I’ve gotten a sense of who you are through your posts and emails, and I can’t say that for everyone.

Yes, the big 3-0 is indeed a milestone. You can think of it as the fifth anniversary of your 25th (or whatever), of course. However, since your true age is now posted on this message board, you can’t deny it! :stuck_out_tongue: You can run, but you can’t hide! :slight_smile:

I don’t know if you’re the sort to make a huge deal out of your birthday, but I’ve done it for you, so you can relax. :slight_smile: Have a great year, filled with the things you like and enjoy. Yes, I know, typically that applies to Pearl Harbor Day (December 7) not D-Day (June 6). But, THIRTY YEARS AGO TODAY, scott_evil was born, and the world has not been the same since! The Allied invasion of Normandy was nothing by comparison.

(Jerevan’s had a busy morning, which is why he was not able to start this thread earlier, as directed by His Majesty.)

Now, let’s be kind to scott_evil today and refrain from making remarks about his age. He hasn’t started 40-therapy yet!

Ugh. Old age. My hair turned gray overnight and clumps of it fell out in the shower this morning. I had to do the “combover” thing before I left the house. Going to buy a cane on the way home, then call Meals on Wheels and register with them. :wink:

Today is my husbands birthday whose name is also Scott! He was born on 6/6/67 on D-day! Everything we have for him that has any kind of number ID on it has a 666 in it somewhere.
And everytime I see Evil Scotts name it makes me giggle because of that.
I swear one of these days I’m going to shave part of my hubbys head to see if he has the mark of the beast in there somewhere.

Glad you’re going to do something to celebrate your birthday. Even if it’s not on your actual birthday, think of it this way: your birthday celebrations are extended, so it’s the birthday that lasts a few days and counting! :wink: Hey, I once had mine last about a month, by dint of my friend forgetting my birthday and giving me a card and present about a month after the fact!

Jerevan, I personally think he should go for Mothe Goddess, but it’s his decision. :slight_smile:
