Happy Canada Day / Fête du Canada, my fellow Canucks! what are your plans for the day?

Happy Canada Day! I’d like to thank each and every one of you for giving me a very quiet day at the office. (I work for a Canadian company, in a satellite office in S. Florida.)

We worked in the yard, we had some beers (I had half a hard cider), we got tipsy, we passed out in the bedroom under a ceiling fan for an hour. Sounds like Canada Day to me.

Is “crunk” the Canadian word for “I drank too much beer” ? If so, my Canadian vocabulary just grew by one word.

Well, I didn’t get the brief done, but the Cub set up a sprinkler in the backyard and we ran through it instead. Had friends over for barbeque, then we walked over to the Albert Street bridge for fireworks. The bridge is pedestrian only the evening of July 1 and was packed! Some drunk almost walked off with the Cub’s trike (really? You’re a strapping 18 year old and you think it’s fun to steal a trike?!?) but we got it back. Fireworks were most enjoyable and then back home to bed. Very sleepy Cub to daycare this morning. And now, work b

“Crunk” = “cutely drunk”.
I may or may not have just made that up.

I thought it had more to do with the proximity of ‘c’ and ‘d’ on a QWERTY keyboard…

On a Dvorak, we can only get frunk, grunk, hrunk, brunk, mrunk, xrunk, irunk or maybe yrunk. Not as cute.

I am sunburned and covered in mosquito bites. Isn’t that the end result of every good summer weekend?
We hit the man-made lake in my sister’s neighborhood. Fun was had.
