Happy Canuck Thanksgiving, everyone!

Wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving!

The Beloved and I are off to the cottage, then to visit family. Hope you all have a good time.

Happy Thanksgiving, Canadian neighbors. What’s the weather like?

The weather here has been fabulous for October. It looks like it will be a really nice weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

It looks like we are getting good weather too…that and having family will be what counts…the turkey is a bonus on top of it…[sub][sup] and not having to cook for most of next week will be good too [/sub][/sup]

Keith

It’s beautiful here too! We’re off to Mr. Zoogirl’s Mom’s. His brother is coming from Vernon, about six hours away, and he’s got all three of his boy’s for the weekend! We haven’t seen him for about four years, and the boys for six or seven.
Happy thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving to my many Canadian pals! Have some pemmican or whale blubber or whatever it is you eat for me!

Thanks! Looks like a beautiful weekend in Edmonton. We’re having a ton of people over for dinner on Monday.

Hope everyone else has a great weekend too.

Beautiful blue skies & crisp 15 C weather here. Leaves have mostly fallen, but still enough colour that it’s not that gloomy “come on and snow already” feeling.

Back from visiting the Beloved’s family, stuffed with turkey; supper tomorrow with my parents, then we waddle into work on Tuesday.

[After I started this thread, I thought that maybe it was insensitive, given 11/9 and the ongoing tension, then I thought of that line: “Strive to be happy…” So, it’s a sad Thanksgiving but we have to go on.]

Our Thanksgiving dinner was more solemn than usual, given the trials that our brave American friends are going through, but it also served to remind us how much we have to be thankful for.

Godspeed, America. Our heartfelt prayers are with you.

Happy turkey day, all.

For the record, it snowed here on Friday, but is supposed to be nice (16 or so) for the next few days.

I’d already weighed in over on this thread–but then I happened to find this story on Snopes, and I was thinking of posting again anyway.

Thanks, guys. Y’all are really good neighbors.

I, uh, accidentally posted my Thanksgiving stuff over on the “Who’s the Boss of Canada” thread. Okay, Okay, laugh at the newbie!
Anyway, we had a great Thanksgiving. The boys got along with their cousins, Mr. zoogirl’s brother brought his new, and very nice girlfriend, and the boys didn’t cuss in front of Grandma! I may be hungry again sometime Tuesday–or maybe not! Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

Bad zoogirl! I know darn well not to mention another thread without a link!

Thanksgiving this year coincided with my Grandmother’s 80th birthday, so it was off to Edmonton with me. Thank heavens I left when I did - I understand that the aunties were at one another’s throats again.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Turkey, arguments. Yep, sounds like Thanksgiving.

For actual Thanksgiving day, I’m not doing a damned thing that requires being nice to other people. I think I’ll put on a big pot of stew and maybe do some sewing… and aside from my buglet, not a relative in sight. Ahhhhh it’s good to be me!

As I sit here the smell of roasting turky is filling our humble home. We usually have turkey because not everyone here likes the taste of blubber.

I’m looking forward to dinner. Besides turkey and blubber there’s also going to be roast beef, devilled eggs, a variety of salads, pumpkin pie, and Nanny’s world famous stuffing. MMMMMMMMM!!!

Pretty soon our house will be filling with people, we should have twenty or so people here.

The girls are dressed and looking really pretty for the day while Lola and I are still kicking around in our flannel and having just one more cup of coffee before we really have to get things going around here. nanny just got up but she was up until one am getting things ready.

I don’t see there being many arguments and the day is looking like it is going to be a good one. Hell, there’s turkey roasting, how can we have a bad day with that?

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Mr. Turkey Lurkey is in the oven, stuffing is made, taters and veggies are cooking and salad is crisping. Home made buns are rising and ready for the oven the moment the turkey comes out. Punkin and Apple Pies are waiting for ice cream or whipped cream for dessert. The house smells wonderful!

Tonite, we will continue our tradition that we started a couple of years ago. Before we eat, we go around the table and everyone says something they are thankful for. Tonite, mine will be that I’m thankful my American friends are safe and a hope that all of this ends soon.

Cheers!

I have something new to be thankful for - THE RIDERS BEAT THE ALS!!!

[sub]okay, so in the grand scheme of things it may not be signficant - but still, it’s not happened since Mulroney was PM![/sub]
