Happy Happy Joy Joy!

This was a Damn Fine Day today. I turned 39-H today(if it’s good enough for the U.S.S. Enterprise, it’s good enough for me  ), my wife got me a nice stereo system, and my doctor told me I’m not diabetic anymore! A year and a half of keeping my sugar level between 80 and 95, and not breaking my diet even once, has paid off in spades. A year and a half of not eating anything that didn’t have a nutrition label attached. A year and a half of pissed off relatives who kept trying to tell me, “You can eat this-it has natural sugar in it!”. A year and a half without pasta(not counting that disasterous experiment involving a low-carb substitute speghetti that was inedible and almost unflushable.) A year and a half of poking my fingers with needles at least three times a day.
Oh, yeah. I also went from 275 lbs. to 205 lbs.

Congratulations, Czarcasm.

YES! Czar - I couldn’t be happier for you. Congratulations on a fantastic achievement. We need a “high five” smiley for times like these.
Keep it up and savor your triumph.

YOU ROCK

The Scotch eggs are on me…

Only, damn, now I’m going to look like Hardy next to your Laurel the next time we both make it to a Dopefest.

That is wonderful! Good for you!

Now, can you lose some weight for me, too?

Good on ya!

That’s great, kid! Don’t get cocky!

Congrats on the bill of health, man.

I didn’t even know you could stop being diabetic. I thought it was forever.

Congrats, slythe.

Oh well done! you must be so happy - about the diabetes, I mean, not about adding another year (ha - you’re younger than I am anyway). I also did not know that one could get rid of diabetes. I don’t have it myself but my father does, and my sis in law - so I get the odd notion of how norribly disciplined you have to be.

Pizza and choccy for you!

If it weren’t for the fact that I love all artificial sweeteners I never would have made it. I’m still sticking to my diet until I reach 185 lbs. just to be on the safe side, though.

What type of diabeties did you have? My dad’s recently been told that he has it, and I’d love to be able to tell him that if he stuck with the needles and the diet, it might go away.

Oh, and congrats - ounds like a supergreat day!

Congratulations! My elderly mother did the same. After having had diabetes for five years, she started to eat right and exercise regularly about two years ago. She lost weight, and her blood sugar is still testing normal, and as an added benefit, her developing osteoporosis seems to be developing less quickly now.

Happy ( late ) Birthday.

Cool! My goal as well, to get rid of the ol’ Type II diabetes. I’m down about 20 pounds, but can’t get the glucose below 114, which isn’t bad, but not low enough to get off the pills.

Wishing you a good day, a good year and a good life. Congratulation you on your weight loss and diabetes recovery (surely linked).

Happy birthday, Czar!

Belated Happy Birthday and fan-day-umm-tastic about the diabetes Czarcasm!

What’s that?
