Happy/Merry HalloThanksMas The MMP

Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes. Even the singing from my annoying big brother! Heh.

Faerie, what a lousy day. I hope things look up very soon!
Mindfield (what is your nickname, anyway?) - my user name is from Stephen King - Dolores Claiborne, but I changed it when I got happier! My nickname is from the “Rebo” in “Reborn.”
Jah - pretty kitties! And that scarf is beautiful. Too bad you can’t wear it.

I decided to show y’all pics of my dogs. This is Lucy, and this is Blaze.

My sweetie got me the new Stephen King book. I didn’t even know it was out until last night! Huge surprise for me. And he got me a gift certificate for a day spa package - manicure, pedicure, and 1 hour massage. Oh baby! He also bought a carrot cake 'coz he didn’t want me to bake my own. Awww! Also a card from him, and a card from the dogs - it had a pic of a golden retriever wearing sunglasses - so cute!

My dad got me a lovely white vase with delicate raised blue flowers on it. Gorgeous! And a C-note for me to buy something for myself. He’s a sweetie, too.

I’ve decided I’m making poke chops for dinner, just cause they’re good.

Have a good day, everybody!

Call me a foolish romantic, but I’ve always thought genuine love and respect for each other is the biggest single factor for making a marriage work. And I don’t care if Tina Tuner did make a gazillion asking what’s love got to do with it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah, now it makes sense. I asked because the primary character in Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time novels is alternately known as The Dragon Reborn so I though it might be a bit of a play on that.

Mine was thought up in response to the discovery that a previous band name I was using was already in use. From an evening of brainstorming and a list of potential candidates matriculated this name that I intended to use for my band. (This was a little before Prodigy released a song by the same name, so I didn’t nick it from them) Except my band has never actually consisted of anyone other than me. I guess I’m kind of a loner that way.

FearsomeElf-like British person --pass the chocolate to this Yank, please.

Am back from library. Am annoyed. Why, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. I came in to two carts in a mess, one looked presorted, but only one shelf of it was, and a messy picture book area, and the Halloween parade and 2 story hours this morning. I don’t do anything with the last bit, but it makes for a lot of lil kids in a somewhat small space, all pulling books off the shelves (story hours on Thursdays are for under 4s). In a word, I was busy.

I worked steadly on my carts for 2 and 1/2 hours-sorting, combining and shelving. At 11:45, I decided to take a break. There is this one librarian who I’m getting to know and she was there today. We were talking, and I happened to sit down in the vacant chair at the Youth desk. The story hours were over with by now, and our department was empty.

This other woman, who works Reference (all the way across the library) comes over and hisses to me, “you can’t sit behind the desk. You’re a page.”

WTF? And I say again, WTF?

I got up and said, “who knew?” and went back to my cart. I did not apologize for existing and wanting to sit down. The other librarian felt bad (she didn’t know that Pages are not to sit at the desk)…all I could think of was that old union joke, the one about who gets to yell fire in a crowded theater…

So, that little episode didn’t exactly make my day. Stupid to get upset about something so trivial, but I must say, I am not the most relaxed person right about now…oy.
Tell your boyfriend that he continues to get himself lost, he can stay that way…

Off to be grouchy and kick things.

Rigs, you clearly need the chocolate far more than I do. Have the rest, please, before I make myself sick with it.

BF has gone off to Scotland for a few days, suits me fine, he can get himself lost up there. Cheeky beggar.

My day has improved considerably - I’m at home, been to the gym and I’ve got wine and the cat for company. And the whole bed. It’s mine! Mine, I say!

**Fae ** - now that you’ve admitted to having a kitty, you are required to show us a pic! =^.^=
mainly, I popped to tell you all, I could have sworn my cow-orker just said “Too much work and not enough foosball” I did not ask what she meant by that. I just went  :dubious:

I think your user name is way cool; witty, even!

But I meant what is your nickname in the MMP. Everybody has one, it’s the going thing! So, I dub thee MF! Unless that insults your sensibilities, or some such. Can anybody else think of one?

Instead of going to work, I would like naptime.
Tupug, I agree with you… sorry, got cut off. Bailey saw a shoe and panicked. Anyway, I am not (I don’t think I am) horribly romantic about marriage, but deciding whether to marry someone based off of anything but, “Right. I love you. You love me. We would like to spend our lives together. We agree, through this agreement, to put our marriage first, and and gradually figure out our lives together. As a couple.” is a waste of time.

If you calculate all the possible catastrophes that going outside, buying milk, getting a pet, going to work etc. could cause, you’d be working yourself into a nice tinfoil hat and maybe a padded room. And you’d still not have any milk for your cereal, which would be sad.

Bah! You people are so demanding! Anyrose , this is my little kitty, her name’s Ophelia. The pic is from when we first had her at about 12 weeks old, she’s two now, just as lovely and still with the devil in her.

Ah! Now I see whence the confuzzing arose. No, in fact, I do not have an MMP nickname, and didn’t realize I risked indecent exposure without one, so yes, MF will do, or whatever the general consensus arrives at. I’m not especially picky so long as it’s easy to type, has a respectable appearance, and goes well with potatoes and gravy.

Now I’m getting hungry.

I adore this pic such a pretty kitty.
The rest of the MMP is sick of seeing pics of my smokey, but this is my baby
as for Mindfield’s nickname, someone (was it swampy?) called you “Mindy”. Somehow I don’t think that will work. But how about Minny?

Oooh! Fluffy!

What an adorable little girl. I bet she’s better than mine. Trade?

oh, and you may call me **rosie ** - everyone else here does.

'Zactly! Tell her she needs to get over it or she’ll end up an animal hoarder.

scarey, your kitty is just gorgeous. No black clothing for you, though.

I believe I coined mindy (pronounced with a long “i”) but I do believe we should carry on traditional lawlessness and dispense several and see what sticks.

Ooh, I remembered what I was going to post. That dreadful creature across the street has a puppy, a very cute, bumbling lil’ brindle puppy. You know how I found out? Cute lil’ puppy was running around with no leash and no collar in the street. Horrid woman. She already got her chihuahua killed, so now she needs another dog? Why doesn’t she name it Roadkill and be done with it? Why would you get a dog/puppy/kitten/cat and then let it run loose with no collar or leash in an unfenced yard in a neighborhood where people drive way too fast? Her method of “training” is to use high-pitched babytalk. Poor puppy. The good news is that they have been evicted and will be out by next Tuesday, so hopefully, the puppy will survive until then and I won’t be subject to listening to the poor thing get hit by a car and her subsequent drunken dramatics.

On the other hand, they served us pizza and salad for lunch, to bribe us into going to the all-hands meeting next week. Attendance is mandatory, but “client commitments” is such a nebulous term, you know?

Are you sure you’re not sick? I’ve never voluntarily surrendered chocolate in my life!

we both had bad days. I won’t even talk about my paper for this one course-I thought I was done with it, but (luckily I didn’t turn it in), but turns out-I did it wrong! Gah. So, another few hours at the computer…

And in the latest news, #2 son is ill-doctor appt at 0945 tomorrow to r/o strep throat. So, no school for him. BUT-and this is the salient point–no sitter, either. The sitter for tomorrow is my FIL, who just finished his 6th chemo treatment. I really dont’ think exposing him to strep is a good idea. So, I called and explained. Boss not happy. I finally asked her, what am I to do? There is no one to switch with, it’s the end of the week, and I can’t be there. Ooh–I cannot wait to be done with this job! I hate this part of being a nurse. Grrrr…
Cute kitty pics-mine looks just like Cuervo, MBG’s kitty, but twice as large. I don’t ahve a pic -so look at Cuervo! Off to dinner.

Geez what a day! I’ve been home for just a little bit. I ate some rewarmed beef stew first thing cause I was starving. ACBG has a meeting tonight so no snuggle time. I spent most of the day getting some policy stuff all ready for the big meeting tomorrow afternoon. I may have martinis for lunch. That’d make talking about policy and procedure a lot more fun tomorrow afternoon. Anywho… like it or not, it goes down tomorrow p.m. I don’t think I’m real popular at work right now.

Howdy! Been a long day, I was so tired I was mumbling to myself in Wal*Mart.

Hi all. It’s been a very long day for me as well, and I’m still here at work. I’m fixing to go home very shortly though.

Oh…wait. On the way home, I have to stop and a buy a baby shower present and something or ingredients for something to bring to a potluck tomorrow here at work. Then I get to go home.

Fortunately, dinner should be fairly simple tonight because I’ve had stew cooking in the slow cooker all day. All I need to do is throw some taters in for an hour and then it’ll be done.

Soooooooooooo very glad that tomorrow is Friday…

I’m not touching you! I’m not touching you! :stuck_out_tongue:

Relax, it was WallyWorld. Everybody mumbles to themselves in WallyWorld.

Noooooooooooo!!! Don’t throw yourself in the stew!!!
