Happy/Merry HalloThanksMas The MMP

It’s Friday afternoon here, I go home in about an hour…someone’s just sent me a 23-page draft document about filing. Oh joys. These people need to get out more.

On the plus side, I managed to not run down any cyclists this morning when reversing off the drive, and I’m going to see some cute Maine Coon kittens later. Oh, and I will be out and about on Saturday driving tanks and other dangerous thingumibobs.

It’s gotten so crazy around here suddenly. It was really boring for a couple weeks and now everything’s blowing up. Even better, it’s Planning time. Which is just about as much fun as forecasting. Ugh.

Nikita (the cat) has to go back to the vet. The special kidney food upset her stomach and made her, um, go all over the place. I wouldn’t want that anywhere, but especially in an apartment, we can’t have her pooing all over. ::sigh:: So we don’t know what to do.

I’m transferring my membership to a new church here so I talked to the minister last night. I really like him. When I moved here, my aunt recommended I try his church because he used to be her minister in Ohio! Pretty cool that he’d moved here too. So we had a nice chat last night. I’m sad to be severing my ties with my old church, but I am excited about the new one and think it’ll be a good place for me.

Not sure what to do this weekend. It’s supposed to be nice-ish. As with every nice-ish weekend, I start thinking zoo. I know we’ve been a bunch of times already, and there are 3 zillion other things to do around here, but c’mon! It’s the zoo!

Hockey tonight!

The final roster was released today and my player is still on it! I have his game bag all ready for after the game tonight.

I need to go get a new litter box for the litterbox cake I’m making tomorrow for tomorrow night’s Halloween party. ::snicker:: The picture looks really disgusting.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Gee, Taxi, if you got up real realy on Sundays (like late Saturday night) you could probably get to your old church in upstate NY in time for late mass . . . .

So, now Fae, if you get a *Maine * Coon Cat, and you live in the UK, does that mean you’d own an exotic foreign breed?

Still not happy about tomorrow’s weather - maybe it won’t be *too * bad. Everyone pray for driveable weather!

Rosie , I live in Wolverhampton. Anywhere outside the city centre is foreign and exotic!

I liked the cartoon, dogbutler. So there.

Exactly. I think it’s that flexibility that lets him do what he does best, which is taking care of her while she spazzes. Sigh.

taxi, I’m glad about the church. It’s great when you find a good church, with a reasonable minister.

I don’t get the ‘fat chicks want to wear quilting’ thing, either. I used to work at a place that carried plus-sized clothing, and most of the designs were incredibly unflattering.

Just hauled myself out of bed, found out the costume party’s on Saturday, and must call QD and also make breakfast. Oh, yesh- the Stephen King cover is really cool. It also sounds like a book I might actually be interested in reading. I haven’t read anything by him except On Writing.

Forget the boxy quilted jackets - why would reasonable, self-aware BBWs want to wear short, tight skirts or tops that stop at the waist?

Awhile back I told y’all about Mandyy the martian and her new dog. She dumped two older perfectly fine cats because “they are just too much responsibilty” and got some kind of purebreed puppy. Well, yesterday I heard her talking to Roundboy about the dog. Seems it’s tearing up things in the house while her and her underaged husband are at work. Shew doesn’t know what to do about it.

I would have said something like, “Well, maybe you can trade him for those cats you got rid of” but I really didn’t feel like making the effort. Besides, she’d would either start crying or be completely confused, because the cat incident was too long ago for her to remember.

::BEEP BEEP:: Just a quick drive-by to say howdy. Back later ::BEEPBEEP::

Hi, guys! It’s Friday! Thank Og, cause it’s getting harder and harder to get up in the mornings.

Be back later!

MtM needs to get a crate at the local pet shop to put the [del]shredding beast[/del] keeeeyute iddow puppydawg in while they’re away.

However, she’ll probably refuse to do this because it’s like jail for the dawg…

My mantra yesterday was like the guy in Airplane that kept saying he picked a lousy day to give up drinking.

Today is marginally better, tempered only by the fact that it’s Friday.

I bought lunch off the truck today. I know, I know. I almost never do but I wanted something a little different. Today he happened to be carrying a load of Popeye’s Chicken, so I bought a box, apparently because I needed to be reminded of how bland and greasy and slimy Popeye’s chicken is. Yecch!! Remind me never to eat Popeye’s chicken again. I didn’t even finish – I ate the chicken bits but discarded most of the skin and the crunchy hog fat clinging to it, and barely even touched the “Cajun” fries. I’m not a fry person at the best of times, but these sorry little limp specimens were just horrid.

Blah. I’m eating yogurt instead. Danone Silhouette, peach, if you must know, because after the bit of Popeye’s I did eat, I still feel like I probably consumed about four thousand calories.

So far so good on the training. I got everyone checked in ok. The coordinators were freaking out, since it was their first event, but I’ve done this lots of times. It’s fun to be the one that keeps her cool while everyone else is losing theirs.

Thanks for the tip, rosie. There’s a Catherine’s up in Hayward, so maybe I’ll check it out this weekend. Drae, I do like Lane Bryant’s jeans, especially the decorated ones, and their Houston slacks. I have a nice pair of embroidered flower jeans I bought last year and they’ve held up nicely. I also like their camis, they’re just long enough for me to tuck in.

Oh, I forgot, I bought the red kitty cat shoes and I’m having them find my size in some tall boots. The calf might be too big, but I guess I’ll find out when they get here. The salesgirl was trying to convince me to buy one size smaller than usual by saying, “but they fit your calf great!” Well, yes, but it’s way too tight across the top of my foot. I like to be able to feel my feet, you know, even if I can’t see them.

Since you’re talking about red kitty cats, I thought I’d share this one with you…nice as pie on the outside, but inside she was a ginger ball of spitting fury

Sadly we lost her to an RTA a couple of months ago…she was a very special cat, she’d been through a lot with me over the last eleven years. In fact she was the only one I could ever truly rely on!

That’s a fuzzy adorable cat. I’m sorry that she’s gone. She looks cuddly.
Hm. The Massey lecture costs more than I though it would, so Attacks Husband and I might have a romantic evening watching movies, instead. I need to make a little garter thing for my i.d. and stuff for going out dancing tomorrow. I think I’ll head out and buy adult beverages.

How odd. I thought I had posted in here, but I guess not. Now even my short term memory is going…

Rainy here and rather dreary, but I like it. I’ve always liked these kinds of days (I think I should live in UK).

I am torn between doing a lot of grad school type work and going back to the library to get more murder mysteries. I’m a very bad student…
I am off today because we thought that John might have strep throat and my sitter is my FIL who is having chemo and can’t watch a sick kid, but it turns out that John doesn’t have strep so now he is back at school and I am free.

I vacuumed the stairs, do I get a sticker?

I am sitting in our cafeteria, waiting for the PM cookies to be delivered, so I can guard them from poachers, who know there is an all-day training, ergo food. Envy me! Should I put out the beerverages, too, so they can have beer and…oh, you know.

rigs, you get a gold star for the day.

I have been shopping at the maul. trying to spend some birthday cash. I so agree with the women above - there is nothing out there for large women! I hate the styles they have. I only found one shirt. It was Lane Bryant and 70% off, but it was just a t-shirt! Macy’s had nothing, Penney’s had nothing. I ended up buying my son a pair of jeans so I could use my $15 birthday coupon at Penney’s. It’s so depressing, I hate to go shopping.

So I’m resting my tired feet, and about to get up and make some Mexican lasagna for supper. Cheesy beany goodness and guacamole - I should be feeling better soon!

Frankly, there ain’t much out there for regular sized women, either. All I want is a longish tunic-y sweater–NOT a cardigan/sweater coat. Just the longer profile(?–I don’t know my fashion terms anymore), one that hits the tops of my thighs. I SEE them in catalogues, but none in the stores. Hmmph.

And it’s not like I can afford it anyway, so why am I bothering?

I uploaded a paper for grad school and I went and got 3 more mysteries, so I dunno-there ya go or something.

Tonight I MUST start on my research paper. Tomorrow we celebrate my daughter’s Bday, the last soccer game occurs and I need to finish #2 son’s Halloween costume. And the yard work. And the GS stuff.

What is everyone else doing this weekend?
