Happy/Merry HalloThanksMas The MMP

Would y’all believe I spent two hours and fifteen minutes talking about policy stuff this afternoon? I even bored myself. :o (that’s me yawning)

We had grilled TBones, garlic smashed N.O.T., sallit and soft breadsticks for diddin. Twas goood! Now Ima enjoy a couple beerverages and some snuggle time. I deserve both.

Hmmm… speaking of Taters, she has not checked in today. Did she really throw herself into the stew last night? Should we be worried?

Swampy, I didn’t throw myself in the stew last night. I’m here, I’ve just been incredibly busy at work. Additionally, we had a combination potluck/baby shower today at lunch today. Right after the potluck, I had a meeting, then after meeting, and a bunch of data queries to run and convert to usable information for the boss.

As for weekend plans, I hope I’m not doing much of anything this weekend. Those are my plans, anyway. Of course, it seems as though my plans change a lot. I do have to stop at the store and buy a few groceries. I need milk and assorted sundries. I also need to get some meat.

I contemplated going to Costco, but, I’m just not feelin’ it, ya know?

Well, I should check my e-mail and see if the boss wants some additional something or other on the data I sent him.

…aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnd I can’t construct sentences to save my life today. Sheesh! I’m sure you’ll all the gist of what I was trying to say anyway.

Ya know, I was kinda wonderin’ how big of a slow cooker you have that you could just throw yourself in it. I mean, the biggest one I’ve ever seen is eighteen quarts, which is big, but by no means big enough for one to throw oneself into no matter how svelte one might be.

Just dont’ watch Six Feet Under …it’s not a stew pot, but a huge kitchen aid type blender, used in a bread factory or some kind of bakery.

Really, you don’t want to know… (it’s in the first season, but I’m not sure what episode).
And with that lovely thought, I’m off!

Well, if I chopped myself up, I could throw myself in there, right?

I have one of those 18 quart roaster/everything thing-a-ma-bobs. I think I’ve used it two or three times in the last, mmmm, eight years or so.

Weekend!

Home now, deciding what to eat. I’m thinking Quiznos, but only because we just got a flier for them advertising some rather tasty-looking new sandwiches. I’ve had mixed luck with Quiznos, though. Sometimes they’re really good, other times it seems like they take a slice of meat, shave it in two lengthwise, then put half on the sandwich with some sort of condiment slathered on to a depth of about two micros and call that a sandwich. Meh. We’ll see.

Weekends are always a mixed blessing. It’s much-needed downtime of course, but they always seem to go by so alarmingly fast that I’m currently working on a theory that weekends are merely a product of a mass hallucination.

“Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.”

Adams might have been on to something there.

Speaking of which, I never did get to watch the last episode on my PDA. Sometimes it seems like everyone decides to save all of their questions and orders 'til after 4pm, when I have the office to myself. They know, and resent me for it.

Hi, honeys, I’m home!!! Gonna get caught up now, then I’ll respond accordingly.

Kisses!!!

Cousin is here. Say hi to the cool kids, cousin.

Hi
We had dinner at the habachi place I ate at a few weeks ago. It was, as expected, yummy. I have some last minute packing to do and we’re going to sleep early because we want to leave early. I am so dreading the trip up. But the trip home Sunday will be better - forecast is for clear skies.

She wants to check her email so I have to relinquish the puter for a few

Welcome home FCM. Didja bring us anything? Here’s hopin’ you presentated all good and impressed the heck out of all of 'em.

Hi rosiecousin! Y’all have fun this weekend.

It’s unreal warm here. Sticky warm. Skeery warm. Makes me wonder if it’s gonna be a dark and stormy night in south Jawja. It’s just a leeetle to warm even for here this time of year.

Oh, and as a public service to all my fellow and fellowess cool kids in Amurrka, and, heck, for all I know Canada too, don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour before going to bed tomorrow night. That’s right cool kids, time to Fall Back. Does Canada do the changing clocks thing twice a year? Do other countries? I really don’t know. The way I see it, the folks in Arizona got it right. They just don’t mess with their clocks. Smart like that them Arizonites are. I just wish we’d decide on one or the other and let it be. I’m rambling. I’ve had several beerverages. Does it show?

It’s a rainy Friday evening. I just got up from a llllooonnnggg nap, gotta see what I can come up with food wise, and have a beerverage or 3. I gotta work all weekend, then I’m off Monday. I’m off Halloween night for the first time in many years, so I don’t know if I should buy candy, or hide under the bed until the First.

swampy, Maggie has always been into “creature” comforts.

rosie, thanks! Usualy I get  or  from my cartoons. When no one said anything, I was worried I was losing my touch.

SCL, Go Cottonmouths! I hope they do better than the Canes are doing.

Hi meeks and Tigs, enjoyed the drive by!

Yeah, we do the daylight savings thing too. Didn’t realize it was this weekend though, but I’m sure Windows would have let me know. Extra hour this weekend!

'Course I’ll probably spend that sleeping…

So … fajitas for dinner tonight! Went shopping, picked up all the ingredients. Gonna be a Mexican kinda night. ¡Arriba!

Yes, indeed, Mindy we have a forty-nine hour weekend this weekend. Go wild!

Darlin’, I WOWed 'em! So much so that they want me back in Feb - woo AND hoo! And on top of all that, for the presentation (brace yourselves) I wore a dress. And pantyhose. Just like an adult female person.

I did choke, literally, during my presentation. My throat got all dry and even the gum I was slyly chewing didn’t help. Fortunately, a kindly gentleman ran out and got me some water. Note to self - bring water next time.

And speaking of shopping for clothes, as many of you were, since I’m going to be doing more briefings, I need to get some more grown-up duds. So my sweetie and I will go shopping, since he has better taste than I do and I really hate shopping for clothes. I need to get a couple of things to do mix-n-match.

What else? We have our Jetta back and it looks great. But we discovered an annoying wind noise coming from the right rear door - that’ll have to be fixed or I’ll go mad when we drive to FL for Christmas.

Speaking of which, my darling baby is flying up here on Dec 17 to hang with us for a week, then we’ll all drive to FL together. But I get quality time with her, without the fiance or other family distractions. YAY!

And I’ve got a load in the kiln - by morning I should have a bunch of stuff ready to be glazed. There should be some really pretty pieces in this batch. I will post pics when it’s all done. **FCD ** carved a really cute kitty face for my kitty bank - can’t wait to see how it goes.

But now it’s late and I’m beat and I’ve got class in the morning and it’s rainy and chill and I really wanna crawl under the covers with my sweetie. So Happy Friday, all. **Happy ReboDay ** - slightly late, but no less sincere.

And hugs and smooches where needed, wanted, or not feared. MWAH!

Welcome home FCM! I had no doubt that you were gonna wow those folks.

Hello rosiecousin.

So, I broke down and did end up going to Costco after work. Sigh…it’s so easy to spend money there. I thought I was doing well, and then they rang up the total.

To be honest, I did get some meat, so that was probably around $100.00 of the bill, but still, geeze, I really didn’t think I had that much.

Chop-chop is currently in the oven. It’ll be ready in about an hour.

This weekend’s dinner menus consist of rib-eye steaks one evening and a pot roast the next. I haven’t decided which of those we’re having on what day.

Off to cruise the dope for just a little bit.

My fajitas rock. And I have enough leftovers to make quesadillas tomorrow.

But Law & Order is on now, so I must divert my attention.

Me again. Long week. Glad it’s overish. Still have stuff that needs to be done before Monday.

Hi FCM! Welcome back! We all behaved really good while you were gone. We went to bed on time, just like we promised, and hardly ever fought. Also, we took our vitamins and brushed our teeth.

Glad everything went so well with your presentation. We knew you’d knock their socks off.

And doggio, I thought your cartoon was cute too.

Hi rosie’s cousin!! Have a nice weekend.

I’m still tired… Hope to get enough sleep tonight and get stuff done on the weekend.

GT

We Won!

Snakes 5 Cyclones 2. I am very impressed with these guys - I think we are going to have a team to contend with this season. I hope so, anyway. The game was lots and lots of fun, even if the ADD kid behind me talked non-stop the entire game.

I went to the grocery store to get stuff for the litter box cake I am taking to a party tomorrow night, but of course I didn’t take the recipe so I have to go back to the store in the morning. Grrr.

I’m off for a bath and bed…

we’re awake - I have a bit of last minute packing to do -the entire state of Connecticut is coverred in dark green rain and a whole lot of arrows going really fast in the wind. At least it is on the waether map. Oh how I hate driving in the rain.
I may or may not be checking in tonight after dinner - 'pends if Brother lets me on his puter or not. But I’ll be back tomorrow evening.
Don’t forget to fix your clocks tonight

I never post to the MMP (too many memories of not being one of the cool kids I guess) but when I woke from this dream I just had to post this.

My husband was nonexistent in the dream; I was meeting a guy at his workplace with all his work friends so we could size one another up. Religion came up and I said “I’m not Jewish, even less Christian, but I can’t be a Wiccan because I’m not touchy-feely enough. I would always be turning to the other Wiccans and going: ‘Cite?’”

And I swear I thought of Whynot. (with deep respect, of course)

That, plus the fact that I am going in to work on a Saturday, is all I have to say. (Somebody has to work every Saturday. There are three of us. Today is one of mine)
