Happy New MMP!

I’m gonna recline and wait to see if UPS bothers to call. I’m not optimistic.

MWAH!

If the vet raises a pulse, cook it a little longer.

Maybe. Are we both naked? And just how cold is the river? Because with shrinkage and all -------------

Why me, Lord? I’ve been good.
:dubious:

Did your yarn ever arrive?

Home from work. I’ll be working tomorrow, too. One of the supervisors at the store is in ICU with an aneurism. so I’m covering her shift.:frowning:

:frowning:

So FCD, like the brats, but did he like your <snerk>butt<snerk>, Moooommmmm!?

You’ve been good, Flytrap? Should I ask Mrs. Plants v 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 about that?:dubious:

Yarn was not delivered yesterday. I did not get a phone call as promised. So I emailed UPS and got a reply saying they’ve contacted the local office and they apologize. No explanation (which I really don’t care about) but mostly, no delivery date provided. The status on my tracking number says they’ll let me know when it’s supposed to be delivered.

And it’s not like they can refund the fee - I got free shipping because it was a large order. I’ve never had problems with UPS before, apart from them not ringing the doorbell. They just leave my stuff on the front porch and go. No prob - you can’t see the porch from the street - heck, we’ve had a computer and a TV left there with no problems. Anyway, we’ll see if they change my status today. I’d call, but I don’t want to get stuck on hold having my cell minutes eaten away for nothing.

They sent me a survey this morning and I told them, quite civilly, exactly what has gone on and how unhappy I am with this situation. I doubt that anything will come of it, but I got it out of my system.

So, good morning! My eyes popped open right around 5AM, so I’m up. Today’s big excitement will involve cleaning the smoker. We’re going to set it up in the kitchen on a stand so I don’t have to crawl on the floor while I scrub it. I figure this little chore will take at least an hour. Beyond that, who knows??

doggio, he made some rather rude remarks about the <snerk> butt <snerk> and I choose not to pass them on. Imagine what you will…

Happy Saturday. Screw you, UPS!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 76 and cloudy for the day. The weather PTB say there will be rain/tstorms/apocalypse comin’ in tonight and all day tomorrow. We shall see.

Today’s big plans include not a whole lot. We are attendin’ the church Epiphany partay tonight. I have a dip (actually more like a spread) and some fancified crackers to take. The biggest decision is whether we want to be all sophisticated like and take gin and tonic water with us to drink, or just take some beer. In any case it won’t be more than a couple of each for both of us bein’ as a dui is not desired. Also, I have to make a corn casserole and some sweet and unsweet tea bein’ as tomorrow is brunch Sunday over to the church house along with the annual Parish meetin’. We shall be hangin’ over to the church house for a while tomorrow. Plus I have (yet again, cause I just did this last Sunday) ush duty. I have also managed to get OYKW to sign up for ush duty and he gets shown the ropes tomorrow mornin’. The “showin’ the ropes” is actually literal because ushers get to yank on the rope that rings the church bell just before the start of the service.

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy is hongry. Then I suppose I should get purtified at some point. Or go back to bed. It’s all up in the air right now.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

swampy, hope you have fun at the Epiphany party. This is a year when our church, instead of having a Christmas progam in church, has one for Epiphany. It’s quite elaborate, the creation of our musical director. Fifth and sixth graders play the kings, and even get borne down the aisle on elevated chairs. Other kids play their entourage, with the littlest being animals. may and Joseph are alread up front to greet their arrival.

blurf

Up and caffeinated. Gotta hit the laundromat and feed store before work.

That sounds like fun with a side of keeeeeeeeeyoooooooooote overload.

I have a load of whites in the washer, and have assembled all the ingredients to make the corn casserole. I’m exhaustated from all the drudgery.

[del] cinderella[/del] swampy, it surprises me that your new churchhouse has a hand pulled bell. Of course, if you sit on my deck on a Sunday morning, you’ll hear at least three different songs (often at the same time) on church chimes. :stuck_out_tongue:

Gotta head to the hardware store (the old school one this time, not a big box) for a tp holder that is actually attached to the wall rather than just hung on it. After that, off to Nashville to the farmer’s market with a side trip to the international market.

Just finished cleaning the smoker, mostly. The racks are pristine, and the walls are mostly clean. The pieces I could remove have been scrubbed, mostly. I figure as long as I get the grease residue cleaned up, I’m not going to sweat the burnt-looking stains. As it was, it took more than an hour. ick.

swampy, does that sound like your approach to cleaning the device?

MOOOOOOM that sounds about right. I sometimes spray it down with oven cleaner and let it set for a while. The racks still need a little scrub even then, but it makes cleanin’ the walls easier. Then again, I always do it outside bein’ as I have a covered deck where mine lives.

red YP found this bell on ebay and just had to have said bell. Someone had wanted to donate a bell for the new digs so it all worked out. We’re nice and don’t carry on with it a whole lot. It’s rung a couple minutes before the start of services. It’s also a muffled ring as the tower is enclosed and insulated. I gotta admit it does sound cool.

Casserole is baked and towels and unders are all dried, folded, and put away. Domesticity is not for the feint of heart!

It’s cold and blustery, and Nikki and I are watching the birds visiting my balcony bird feeder. I’m trying not to worry about things I can’t do anything about; Nikki is … well, she’s the picture of contentment, as befitting a sleepy cat half-dozing in what she has recently deemed to be “her” chair. Will eventually have to pull on some pants and pick up a box at the office and drop off a check in the mailbox, which hopefully will contain no new bills for me.

**swampy **- if he wasn’t 40° and raining, I probably would have cleaned it outside also…

Happy Saturday!

It’s cold and rainy but no snow.
No snow is a good thing.

FCM If it makes you feel any better I know somebody who works for UPS and they do take complaints seriously.
I got my box today that has my surge protectors.
My computer is plugged in behind the couch and the plug is too high to slide the couch over it.
Now I can push the couch back where it belongs.
The other one will replace the one the TV, cable box, router, phone is plugged into. Thenew one has a longer cord and will fir behind the desk.
Sah-son got his pizza peel so he’s ready to go with the pizza stone.
Except now we don’t have any pizza fixings.

My head is killing me today.
It would probably help if I ate something.

**Flytrap **you reminded me of a joke

A boy asks his mother for a dollar.
His mother asks why should she give him a dollar and the boy answers so he will be good.
His mother says Why do you need something to be good? Why can’t you be good for nothing like your father?

Once again, I checked the UPS site - it said my box was being held for future delivery, so I emailed back and told them I want it on Monday. We’ll see how that goes.

Meanwhile, the smoker is back it the garage, the pellet stove has been cleaned a bit and refilled, and I refilled the two hand soap containers in the bathrooms upstairs. Time for a break.

It’s really miserable out - 41° and drizzly and dreary. ugh. But the house is starting to smell yum - I’ve got the poke, some chopped onion, and BBQ sauce in the crockpot - I should be able to star pulling it soon. At least I hope so.

Well, that was fun. Just helped my sweetie do some fiberglass stuff on his gas tank. Not only is working with fiberglass sticky and nasty, but it stinks!! I can’t get the smell out of my nose, and it’s too cold out to open any windows. Ick. It almost overpowers the poke!

ick.

Went out to a few places I needed to go this morning. Had lunch, and now I’m drinking a club soda while trying to decide how best to get done all the stuff I need to do today.
