I am very much hoping that ‘the girls’ are your daughters Desmostylus.
Otherwise, there is no hope for you mate.
kambukta: Yes, they’re my daughters.
You seem to be assuming that I’m male.
Happy New Year from the lovely Mornington Peninsula!!
Hi Aussie and NZ Dopers! Happy New Year! So, what is 2003 like so far?
It’s only 8:30 AM here in New Mexico, and I’m about to go shopping for posole and tamale wrappers so I can make the traditional New Years treats. Oh, and lotsa champagne, too. It’s just me and Mr. Spooky tonight, which is the way we like it.
Happy New Year to Dopers everywhere!
So, can you tell us what happens in 2003, or are we just going to have to wait?
Happy New Year, everyone. I’ve got a little over 12 hours to go.
What’s 2003 like?
So far, after some fireworks on botyh sides of th’ Tasman Sea, and “Auld Land Synes” here and there, it’s wonderfully quiet this morning here in Auckland. And the sun’s out on a peaceful day.
Still dark here in Sydney. I’m off to work.
Back to the grind. It’s shaping up a lot like 2002 so far…
HAPPY NEW YEAR! ~ From sunny southern California. Rose Parade mania on the streets. Looks like a beautiful, clear day tomorrow is predicted. Count down to 2003: less than 14 hours. To a better year for everyone. Cheers!
Ice Wolf, after seeing Two Towers, I must visit N.Z.
Ice Wolf, Happy New Year from North Carolina! The Pickle drops here at 7:00 PM EST. 12:00 Midnite Greenwich (sp?) time.
Damn, I made it through another one!
A bit of a glimpse at how New Zealand saw in the New Year: a bit of fireworks, a bit of mad hooning here and there. Nothing out of the ordinary for this little corner of th’ world.
Violet, if you do manage to make it down this way, squeeze Auckland into your itinerary, please? Even if only for a quick coffee.
I want everyone to pop in and say Happy New Year as their time zone goes over to midnight. I still have ten hours and 15 minutes, but I want a Happy New Year every hour, dammit! And, Newfies, I know about your weird half-hour off thing, so don’t think you can escape!
I still have approximately eleven hours and forty-five minutes to go. Ah, the wonders of living all the way over on the West Coast and being on Pacific Standard Time (GMT -8)…

Happy New Years!
Still got about 11 hours here in Los Angeles.
Hey, Kyla, yes, I promise to post at midnight or thereabouts, but I might be a little bit late, as I plan to kiss Mr. Spooky.
The posole is still simmering (takes a long time to cook things at 6,000 feet in elevation). The champagne is in the 'fridge. Mr. Spooky is expected home a little late this afternoon, as he is a beer merchant and this is the biggest booze night of the year. Stay safe, everyone!
