Happy Positive thoughts needed!

So my girlfriend should be finding out today if she gets the position she applied for.

She’s sort of a shooting star in her company. She’s only been there 3 months or so as a permanent employee, but she’s applied for her bosses job.

HR didn’t want to give her an interview, because she had only been there for 3 months, but her boss insisted, and she did very very well… apparently it’s between her and 2 other people.

So I’m asking all the Dopers out there to shoot good vibes our way. If names are required, her’s is, for lack of a better one, Melody.

If she gets it, it’s possible she will make enough money that I can quit my job and go to school… w00t!!

Here’s sending all the best vibes to you and your girl friend. I hope she gets the job, not only for your benefit, but for her own also. It would have to be a huge ego boost to get your boss’ job after only three months with the company. Best wishes!!!

Many, many good thoughts and best wishes, for Melody and yourself, Tristan.

Thanks! I’m going to send her the link to this thread when I hear what the verdict was… heheheheheh

Well, she didn’t get the position.

Her company requires that if a person has worked there for less than a year, they get 2 signatures from their boss. He was more than happy to sign, since she had been helping him out and doing a great job of it. She had previously been a Supervisory type at Hastings in Bozeman, and had lots of experience.

The guy that dropped the bomb on her today wondered out loud what she did to get the interview, since she hadn’t been there that long.

I told her to casually mention that she felt discriminated against based on the length of her employment… she told me to get stuffed

So she’s going to continue being the supervisor-ish pro tem. When the new boss comes in, she will be training her, since the new boss has no clue what happens in this area.

Meh. Thanks for the support though, folks. She appreciated it.

Tell her to keep her chin up. Even getting recommended for a promotion so quickly is a good sign of things to come. She’ll get there it just may take a little longer than first anticipated. Good luck!!
