Happy Star Wars Day!

Happy Star Wars Day!
(May the 4th be with You)

And also with pew. Pew pew pew.

At my daughters’ school, K-8, today they are allowed to dress up as characters, where SW t-shirts, etc.

Appropriately enough, my local multiplex had advance tickets for Solo: A Star Wars Story available for sale today, so I bought a ticket for a showing on the Saturday, May 26 (two days after the May 24 opening).

Mrs. Cups and I are going to Disney tonight (Magic Kingdom though, not Hollywood Studiod) to celebrate. We’re both wearing Star Wars shirts.

The Seattle Mariners are doing a* Star Wars* night. For the life of me I don’t see the connection between the two for cross marketing purposes. But, whatever.

They did it last year on May 4, too. As for connections, it’s not the only baseball marketing scheme without a specific link to baseball. Bobbleheads, for example, yet they do them all the time.

Yeah, but why just Star Wars? And how did it come about? Why no MASH* night, or Gone With the Wind, or whatever? I know it was a popular movie, but I feel like I’m missing something. I know they want to get people to the stadium, but does anyone really think “Gee, I’m not much of a baseball fan, but if i I can dress up like a movie character, maybe it will be fun.”

Was Daffy Duck in “Star Wars”?

Here is my favorite post of the day.

Just shirts? Not head to toe?
(I wore mine!)
