I predict a hunger games style winner take all match up this weekend. Hope the arena is prepped and stocked with weapons and food caches.
It says announce by Tuesday but yeah it obviously won’t be today.
The preview says “by,” but the actual article says “on.”
My guess is she’ll announce via text Monday evening.
Just watch as the decision comes out in mere minutes (recalling my famous last words in the Alec Baldwin thread).
That sounds right. My guess is she will interview all the candidates this weekend, make her decision on Sunday, then call them all to let them know yes/no and to discuss campaign strategy (because i hope all of them will campaign for her to some extent) on Monday, and make her announcement after she’s talked to all of them, so late Monday. She’ll call her choice first, so he can book tickets.
It’s all chattering class nonsense.
I’m not sure what Pritzker brings to the table and I say this as someone who thinks he could be President some day. I just think the other candidates are better at this time. Meanwhile does anyone else see a resemblance between Walz and Emhoff? They look like they have similar senses of humor. At this point I will have to sit back and trust Harris and her team. So far they aren’t making a lot of errors.
It would be hilarious if Harris could incorporate Julia Louis-Dreyfus into the announcement somehow. Perhaps when Harris is at the podium about to make the announcement, JLD pokes her head out from behind the curtains and says something like “I just wanted to make sure you got my emails about me being available”. They should come up with something which will blow up on social media. It’ll help get the word out about the VP pick to people who aren’t necessarily following politics
i have said walz matches her humour. harris and walz would make a good working environment.
the biden harris white house is a lighter happier place than the trump pence white house. i can’t imagine how toxic a work place the trump white house was.
I’m hoping for Walz. He has a nice avuncular appeal and adds a feel good positive vibe to the ticket. I like Kelly, but I’d rather keep him in the Senate as I think he’d breeze to reelection as long as he likes. Shapiro is great and popular in PA, and as painful as it is to say, a Jewish candidate may not play well if Israel gets even more ham-fisted in Gaza

I’m not sure what Pritzker brings to the table
Three billion dollars of net worth that he could spend in unlimited amounts on the Presidential campaign. I don’t think it’ll be Pritzker, but that’s nothing to sneeze at.
I’m now almost expecting JB (Pritzker) … it’s like the old mystery shows, always the one you least suspect!
There is no one of the list that we all agree should not be the choice!
Besides the money he’d be great as the classic attack dog. But yeah.
I hope it’s not Pritzker. The Republicans have been (unfairly, but undeniably) way too effective at branding Democrats as the party of out-of-touch elitists already. Having a billionaire on the ticket is SO not going to help with that.
All right - accuse me of body shaming. But I’m not sure Pritzker is an attractive candidate. Overweight, Jewish beneficiary of incredible inherited wealth. From a state which is guaranteed to go blue.
I’m not criticizing ANY aspect of his substance. Just saying, as a resident of his state who has voted for him and gladly will again, what are the unique positives that warrant giving the opponent such easy (if unfair) targets?
There’s something about Pritzker that appeals to me viscerally. He would bring a tough guy image to the ticket, could eat Vance alive in a debate, and, as mentioned, has a huge pocketbook that he would bring along with him. He’s my #2 choice behind Walz.

and, as mentioned, has a huge pocketbook that he would bring along with him.
There’s nothing wrong with more money, but my impression is that the Harris campaign has plenty.

He would bring a tough guy image to the ticket,
Where does this come from? Because as a lifelong Illinoisian, the name Pritzker has never stood for anything other than “super SUPER rich folk.” Sure, liberal, philanthropists with some unique individuals. And JB is obviously a financial wiz. But pretty much just a classic example of super rich generational wealth.

Where does this come from?
I might guess that, if someone isn’t familiar with Pritzker, and just looks at him, he might look “tough.” He’s a bigger guy, a bit barrel-chested, and might, at first glance, come across as more “goodfella,” and less “super rich guy.”

I watched the Shapiro speech above and had a sort of uncanny valley feeling, like he was doing an impression of Obama. I’m from the west, though— is that the way every Midwest politician speaks?
“The Daily Show” noticed that, too, in their report last night.

He’s a bigger guy, a bit barrel-chested, …
Is that a polite way to say, “quite obese”? I like the guy (as a guv). But I’ve never heard him described as anything other than “fat.” And rich and fat (fatcat?) - however fair or not - is not an image I would expect to be terribly appealing.
