I’m confused as to whether or not I should put this in a spoiler box, so I’ll err on the side of caution.
Yeah.
Crap. Did my previous post spoil it for anyone who saw the infamous spoiler post but has not yet read the book? Am I being overly neurotic about this? Advise!
Wow. I had no idea and wanted to tell you thanks for bringing that to my attention. When you click on my profile it says click here to e-mail me, but when you do it won’t. Now I am left wondering how to correct this?
Been there, done that, read the book and knows who dies.
To everyone who reported the spoiler, and whoever banned him -
Thank You.
This is a big deal at my house. We are reading the book aloud to each other, as part of our Sunday night family time together, and we want very much to make the experience fresh for all of us.
OK, OK - I’m a nerd and a wimp, and I am making more of a new book than it deserves. But everybody in my family is sharing the same excitement of “What’s going to happen next?”, and it would be spoiled if one of us had to pretend he didn’t know how it all comes out.
For those few hours, we are all equals in fandom, and it is a lot of fun, and I am grateful to all my friends at the SDMB for being considerate of our feelings and my foibles.
This is exactly what I was talking about earlier. How come it’s OK to reveal a spoiler as long as you don’t reveal the specific details of the spoiler? Why couldn’t the OP of this thread simply have read, “No giving out Harry Potter spoilers in thread titles”, without revealing the major spoiler that someone dies in the book?
Apparently this was common knowledge among people who keep up with Harry Potter news, but for someone who might have been trying really hard to avoid ANY spoilers, it might have been really disappointing to find this out before reading the book.
My daughter is eleven, my son is fourteen, my wife is (ahem) over twenty-one, and we are all spending several hours per night together and enjoying it very much.
Well, we have finished the book at the Shodan house. On Friday, we leave for vacation, and are going to listen to the audio version in the car on the way.
It is a wonderful book. And it was wonderful to read it aloud to each other.
