Harvest Festival in the MMP

I brought them from a church dinner. A little sauce. I do not know their ethnicity. Small.

Congrats! One more master at CasaLA.

Clothes are washed, apartment cleaneded up, three cards made from scraps, a pack of pictures sorted and supper (a hamburger and salad) et. Now for chillage.

A church dinner? Did they have BBQ sauce? Or spaghetti sauce?

Here are Swedish meatballs. They were a favourite of mine at Ikea (along with crispbread and lingonberry jam. It’s been over 20 years, but I think potatoes were also involved.)

We’ll still be outnumbered by the wimmins. The girls have had their gooshy food, BTW.

The leftovers are reheated, and we’ll dig in in a few minutes.

We’re watching The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. (S3E2). The inspector’s watch reminds me of my paternal grandfather’s Gruen ‘tank’ watch. Since I’m paying off the house, it might be time to get it repaired. I’m not fond of the expanding bracelet.

As the author of a book I read years ago put it, there’s nothing worse than taking a bite of something and finding out it’s not what you thought it was.

Up from naptime, having a Vieux Carré, Asian BBQ stir fry, and watching hockey. It’s is raining.

State got crushed by Notre Dame 36-7, Iowa is nuking Wisconsin 20-0 in the 2nd, and UNC and Incarnate Word have bye weeks, so I don’t even have the joy of irrational hatred. :frowning:

: crosses fingers : If nothing else, just so you do more than just survive.

Outstanding use of scraps

When I first discovered it, I thought it was my grandmother’s watch because of the bracelet. Maybe it was the style in the ’40s (?), but I think it would look better with a leather band. (My dad also liked Speidel Twist-O-Flex bracelets in the ‘50s and ‘60s.)

Power flicker. Somebody hit a pole.

Sounds good. But I’ve already had three glasses of cheap plonk, and I don’t feel like making a cocktail.

Speaking of watches, though, my ‘vintage-look’ Seiko has shipped from China. I hope it gets here before we leave on vacation – or after we return. (Our cat-sitter should bring it in if it arrives while we are away.)

I’m having to seriously limit my online time now, I just backed out of organizing the secret santa. I just do not have the bandwidth anymore.

So, while I am reading the Mump, posting is getting pretty hard.

It has been getting cold at nights so I brought my lemon tree in. George put a leaf in his mouth and then spit it out. Jolene still cannot believe that all of the leaves will bite her mouth and has turned several of the low hanging ones into lace. Hopefully, they both will survive the winter.

Monday we will be going up north to look at the leaves and try out a new place we saw, Tequila Taco Bar. Now that we are resigned to never eating good Mexican food again, we do enjoy the WV take on it.

And that’s all I’ve got, my batteries are already drained.

Take care all. Shits getting real and ain’t nobody safe nowadays.

But yeah.

After 10pm and time for the late-night final. Did go to the gym for a short while and since have pretty much slothed quietly and eaten my Big Bowl O’Pasta for dinner. Will head off to bed shortly after completing this, the day is beginning to catch up with me.

But couldn’t book my ticket to Slumberland without catching up with my compadres in the MMP, so onto the scroll…

swampy, given the score I bet your staying up for this Georgia game…

FCM, a small ham sounds like a good idea.

Pilot, that will be quite a trip. And missing the Drake passage will mean missing some scenery, but also some humongous waves.

Flyboy, so happy the meeting with Calypso went well, looking forward to pictures once he is in your happy home.

Coppertone, if things go well, it might result in more hours. Great news!

JtC, sorry to hear about the bandwidth problem, any chance of a cure in the near future? Take care.

And time for me to head off to bed. Catch all y’all tomorrow.

I just put my ear on Abbey’s side while I scritched her head. She didn’t even purr. She did give my foreheads a couple of licks. When we first got her, she’d lick my forehead for 10 minutes! Little ingrate! Well, maybe she’ll adopt Calypso as her stepson.

Counting the days! Hope all the kitties get along. (And now that you shared a picture of swedish meatballs, I want some. Probably easiest is just to go to Ikea sometime next week and get some frozen ones. And they have chicken and veggie ones as well!)

Pretty! Oddly enough, the middle one reminds me of **moooooom’**s latest project.

Hubby and I both woke up before 5 am. He thinks there’s someone’s alarm waking us up. No idea, but this is getting old. Mattress is almost 12 years old, maybe it’s time for a new one.

Leaving soon to take a long train ride and get Five Guys. Might even see the sun, which we haven’t seen for a few days. Fog season is here and will stay until March. The sun will come back out when it gets colder.

Speaking of cold, yesterday we switched from the summer duvet plus blanket to the spring/fall duvet.

And looks like it’s time to get ready to go. Happy Sunday!

Today I ate a lot. A local Orthodox church had it’s annual food festival. I get two meals, one for there and one to take home. I had the keftedes for one entree and falafel for the other. Both come with pita and hummus, two pieces of spanokapita, and a little container of feta and kalamata olives, I also get baklave for dessert. The line is long but they have it down to an artform on getting folks through it.

This year my hip has been hurting so I ate outside, and didn’t go in for the extra pastries available in the basement, or for the church tour, It’s not large but I enjoy looking at all the icons on the wall, and they have other church items on display like vestments, the marriage crowns belonging to the church, and so on.

I may not eat much Sunday.

I forgot also that there were two pieces of dolmades with each dinner. They make them better than any restaurant I haver been in.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 61 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 75 and cloudy. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization in which I have verger duty. We will travel separately today as I need to be there a little early and want to stay for BP’s adult formation class on the Revelation. I found the last class innerestin’, so have decided to give it a shot. I will come back to da cave for a sammich lunch. The rest of the day will be RDOS inactivities. Any need to feed today will be via forage.

MetalMouse I made it through the first half of the game. Proud of my DAWGS for pullin’ off the 20-10 win over the kitties. Auburn fans are no doubt seethin’ over the loss, the goal line fumble, the refs (all SEC teams despise SEC refs, it’s a time honored tradition), Hugh Freeze (their coach) and last but not least, yet another loss to the DAWGS. Still, I was noddin’ off and had to go beddy bye.

{{{JtC}}} sometimes a break is needed. Please do check in from time to time to let us know how you are.

Coppertone all appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the interviews.

CupCakes that sounds nummy! I am not fond of most Greek food, but it sounds like all the ones I like were there. I would have made a hawg of myself. Hope your hip feels better today.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Morning cleaning and afternoon sloth, with 7 hours of handegg is on today’s agenda. It’s currently raining and 64 degrees Ferret Height(17.8 Centipedes). It’s also before dawn, so Spot keeps bothering me to turn on his shows.

Lewis Grizard’s story about Uga.

I almost got that when we were in there the other day. We’ve had it before and it’s pretty good. I stopped because we had an abundance of left over shells and cheese at home. Instead I opted for pumpkin muffins that no one seems to be eating. (I don’t like them, but I thought they would be a hit with the others.)

((JtC)) and ((shoe))

It’s been very strange around here lately. I keep reminding myself that it’s not my job to try to fix everyone else’s problems. But it’s tough. My mom has been getting worse with her migraines and, frankly, her anger. MusicMan has been struggling with many things, too. Last night we had a situation where he was singing loudly and it was bothering her so she went out and sat in the car. I did not wish to ask him to quit singing because that is his one love in life and he’s working on starting his own karaoke business. However, I felt bad for my mom that the noise bothers her. My only intervention was that I ordered some earplugs and headphones on Amazon last night so that maybe she can double layer them and will be able to stay in the house if and when this happens again.

Today’s activities are yet to be determined. We’ve got grocery pickup at Walmart at 10. I really would like to work on cleaning the upstairs because it is ridiculously cluttered. And I’m sure I’ll work on some IEPs and such every once in awhile.
