Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, WTF?

So I’m thumbing through the latest issue of Details and I see a recommended program listing:

WTF? I checked Cartoon Network’s site and it lists:

but no info. Considering another episode’s titled “Shaggy Busted” I’m thinking its possible that Details might not be yankin’ my chain on this one. Anyone know what the scoop is?

(If it really does turn out to be something so bizarre, the first thing I’m doing after I get a job is get cable!)

I think I’ve seen that episode (the first one) before. I’m not 100% sure, as I was pretty trashed at the time. However, based on other episodes that I have seen, that sounds entirely plausible. Adult Swim totally rocks, and you’ll love it.

Yep, that’s a real episode. This show is brought to you by the same people that did Space Ghost:Coast to Coast and Sealab 2021. Their specialty is taking old cartoons and remaking them into something very very weird. And hilarious.

What exactly was BooBoo on trial for last night? I missed the first couple of minutes. Last night was my first viewing, and wow, Adult Swim is really odd. (but I’ve always loved me some SGCtC!)

It was suspected he was the Unabooboo. Delivering bombs in pic-a-nic baskets.

Forgot to include the link to the Adult Swim website.. In addition to the Boo Boo and Jonny Quest episodes, the only other ones I know of are: the one where Shaggy and Scooby get arrested for driving under the influence, and the one where former Superfriend Apache Chief sues a coffee shop because after having scalding hot coffee spilled on his area, he can no longer “enlarge”.

Smeghead – are you sure that Harvey Birdman is made by Williams Street, the Sealab 2021 and Space Ghost people? I thought it was one of those Robert Smigel productions.

And Truckerfan – Harvey Birdman is pretty good, but if you’re going to get cable you should get it for “Home Movies” and “Sealab 2021”. The best stuff on Adult Swim, if you ask me.

It’s real, and it’s very funny. The one where Scooby and Shaggy were busted was great – complete with “Cops”-like video footage of the van being pulled over and the closed captioned dialogue [giggling]. I think the one on 7/28 is “The Dabba Don” - Fred Flintstone, the mob, and the construction business.

Harvey Birdman is awesome. Sealab 2021 is beyond awesome. But if you’re going to get cable for any one Adult Swim show, it has to be Mission Hill.

“I found this box hidden in my brother’s closet . . . I think it’s full of pornographic videotapes!”
“Nah, your brother’s porno collection could never fit into a box that small.”

I loved the Scooby episode of Harvey Birdman.

“We’re headed to the old cotton mill to find a big, green monster. I mean, a real fattie, man!”

Home Movies was my favorite Adult Swim 'toon until they changed the animation style–that took a lot away from it.

I wish Cartoon Network would take Baby Blues out of the Adult Swim lineup though. It really isn’t that good at all.

No, see, you guys don’t understand. While all of these things are very funny (I quite like Mission Hill and Sealab 2021), they pale in comparison to the towering inferno of pure humor that is Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

“No one can defeat the quad laser. Jumping is useless.”

Heh. With the coding and the brackets and the…eh, I blame LiveJournal.

I think Harvey Birdman is a Robert Smigel production.

I heard about the idea of putting Fred Flintstone in the mob. They figured the Flintstones and the Sopranos had a lot in common.
