The high point of my week used to be reading the new editions of the Onion online on Wednesdays, but now the anticipation of Sunday night Adult Swim cartoons on Cartoon Network keeps me from slitting my wrists for another week.
I realized this last night when I called out to my SO, who had fallen asleep after Home Movies, as is her custom, “Look honey! New Sealab next week!” Needless to say she was very pleased to be awakened by the news.
But hell, it was important to me. Important enough to start a thread and get some questions answered and discussions started.
I was a big SGC2C fan before the Swim started. Does anybody know if they’re going to do any more episodes, or are they going to focus on Sealab 2021 and Aqua Teen Hunger Force?
I’ll have to say that Aqua Teen Hunger Force has really grown on me. I was annoyed by it the first couple times I saw it, but last night’s episode (which has been on before) was the one that really changed my opinion. I now quote the Atari aliens from the moon (what are their names?) all the time. I all get are blank stares when I say “We smoke while we shoot the bird!”
At one time, the prospect of no more Space Ghost (if, indeed that is the case) would have seemed like armageddeon to me. But if they keep turning out Sealabs of such high quality, I think I could learn to live with only repeats.
Speaking of Sealab, does anybody know the name and artist of the song that closed out last night’s episode? It’s a rap song about Boba Fett which includes the line “Bounty huntin’ for Jabba the Hutt”
And what of Harvy Birdman? Are there only two episodes? (The Quest custody battle and Apache Cheif’s civil suit against pseudo-Starbucks) Did somebody pull the plug on that one already?
Anybody else notice that there aren’t very many commercials during Adult Swim time? Not that I’m complaining, but does that bode well for the future of the franchises?
Where’s the Brak Show? It hasn’t been on in a couple of weeks. Thunderclese (sp?) rocks my world.
Home Movies is another show that started off weak but has really come into its own. The characters have really fleshed out and they are starting to click together. But it’s a sitcom, and that’s to be expected. It always takes a little time for sitcoms to get going. Is Paula Poundstone still on the show, or have they replaced her with a sound alike?
Yes, my life is that pathetic.
And if your life is that pathetic, too, I invite you to post in this thread.
