Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Anyone else think this show is hilarious? I just recently started watching it but every episode I have see has been great.

Ditto. A lot of people don’t like “Shaggy Dog” stories (i.e. stories that ultimately have no real point and are just a bunch of silly screwing around), but for those that do (you Big Lebowski fans!) this show is primo. It’s just such a great mix of amatuerism and brilliance. There are a couple of weak eps, but by and large every one has some great comic exchange or nonsense.

I’d post some quotes, but really, it’s the voice acting that does them justice, not the bare lines themselves. Meatwad’s voice just cracks me up all by itself.

ATHF is either very hot or very cold. I find Sealab and Harvey Birdman to be more consistently funny.

But when the Hunger Force is hot, it’s hot.

Anyone see the latest one, Unremarkable Journey? I er… missed, er downloading it.

I find just the opposite: Birdman and Sealab are the hot/cold ones for me.

I had thought it was dumb, then I got into it two or three weeks ago. Weird show- is it me, or does either Shake or Carl die every episode these days? I don’t always laugh out loud at it, but it’s usually funny.

I either find it lame, or hysterical. I can never tell if it’s because of the mood I’m in, or because one episode isn’t as funny as another. I always find Harvey Birdman funny.

I think the show is hilarious, especially any episodes with Carl or any of the aliens…Did anyone see the episode with the ghost of christmas past that was a robot explaining the origins of christmas and the same episode later had danzig…or the episode where meatwad gets the suicidal junkie doll with one hand…pure genius I say!

The heroes look like a snack.

It’s Scooby Do on Crack!
*My name is Shake-Zula,

Hey, I am FryLock!

http://www.aquateencentral.com/

My favorite bit was from The Cloning episode: while cloning one-dollar bills, George Washington suddenly appears!

*Frylock: He’s George Washington.
George Washington: I am.
Shake: Then what the hell is he doing next to my Benjamins.
George Washington: I have come bearing a message. Great Britain sought taxes from the colonies and they paid for their greed with blood. Now, do you understand the price of avarice?
Shake: Take him out.
George Washington: Wait! No!

(Frylock shoots George Washington)

Meatwad: I done took him out didn’t I? (Meatwad actually shot himself)
Shake (looks at bullet holes in Meatwad): Yeah… you really took him out…
Meatwad: I knew I took him out…hee hee yeah! Hey, did I take him out?
Frylock: Man, we should’ve cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn’t have given a shit!.*

Now I was hooked! I would never had thought one silly cartoon like this one would actually had so much a historically accurate punch line!

http://www.buyandhold.com/bh/en/education/history/2002/a_jackson_pt_4.html

Jackson’s efforts to destroy the Bank of the United States, did indeed cause inflation and the loosening of credit led to a huge increase in paper money!

Pure genius, yes!

I almost made a joke about a personality test in the last post, so let’s see…

Alright, I’m Frylock. The test is good.

Man I am Frylock too but he is not my favorite character.

She that’s what I mean. When you quote that sequence, it’s not as funny. It needs the voices.

Two words, my friends: Quad. Laser.

I love the characters that look like they just popped right outta 8-bit-theater.

Dave and I have a contest to see who the first one to yell “MEATWAD” is whenever we see Meatwad.

ATHF is the best thing to watch when you’re stoned. I’ve lost my ability to breathe because I was laughing so hard.

I think my fave is the Super Snake episode, where Frylock accidentally kills everybody. He then feels guilty and assumes the killer pimp badass persona for a while, until confronted with the zombies of all the people he killed, who go from the undead monotone voices of accusation to their regular whiny voices as they argue with Frylock. I was so stupid for the next 24 hours I couldn’t complete a sentence.

Oh my HEAD - Aqua Teen DVDs. I don’t know if I can handle that.

I’ve seen the show a couple of times, by accident, and didn’t expect it to be so funny. I’ll have to watch it more often, if it’s (almost) consistently funny.

Oh, and I’m Carl. I guess I’m cranky.

…I want candy,
bubble gum and taffy,
skip to the sweet shop
with sweetheart Tandy…

Carl: … that’s the abandoned warehouse next to Melon Shakers, the, ah, gentlemens’ club.

MC Pee Pants Rules

Meatwad: “I’m the devil’s onion…scallion.”
Frylock: “Minion”
Meatwad: “Whatever”

Meatwad: Where’s My Whiskey? I wanna get tore up!

(the Meatwad voice makes it)

The Trenton Tar Pits:

Voice on Intercom: Hi I’m your captian today and I’m a convicted sex offender.

Assisted Living Dracula.

The Broodwich.

My favorite ep is the one where all the ATHF villains have a convention on the Moon to form the villain group MondayTuesdayWednesdayThursday.

Anyone notice there are a lot of websites mentioned (and ‘exist’ in sense ) on that show?

Is it just me, or does Shake sound a little…tipsy?
