Did the 3 characters on this show ever fight crime, or the 2 scientists who are in the intro to each show? I heard this show was about crime fighting against those 2 scientists, but i have seen about 15 episodes and i have never seen anything like that.
I think that’s part of the joke. They’re supposed to be detectives of some sort, but they never leave their crappy little duplex. I think the first episode actually had them do some detecting, but it’s scarcely been mentioned since then. No idea what the deal with the mad scientist and his interestingly coiffed assistant is. Or why Abraham Lincoln apparently hated them so much.
Well, actually, I can figure out the second one pretty easily.
I can’t figure that out either. I guess its part of the shows character, i love all the irrational plotlines they throw in.
Some really, really crappy detecting. Frylok was getting some good leads, but Meatwad was no help, and Master Shake was actively setting them back, with his insistance on strange theories and on dropping the case when it wasn’t solved immediately.
It’s really no wonder they ended up retiring.
At one point Frylock mentions that the pay sucked.
They still have the Danger Cart, though, and use it on occassion.
Muuummmyyyy…CUUUUUURRRSSSSEEEE!
And another thing - what the heck are those things on Frylock’s teeth? Does he wear braces? Or are they jewels? Obviously, judging from his back, the Fryman likes the Bling Bling.
They occaisionally mention their detective careers. In the “Kidney Car” episode (Shake enters Carl’s car into a demolition derby, Meatwad ends up with it) Carl wants the guys to figure out what happened and Frylock tells him they’re out of the industry (Meatwad was trying to sell hair-braiding stuff, as I recall) and that the money sucked. In the episode with the leprachauns I think Shake wanted to investigate where the gold was coming from.
Vaguely related, I’m playing on Team Aqua Team Hunger Force Number One inda Hood, G in a paintball tournament next month. We’re even getting jerseys with Frylock, Meatwad and M. Shake (Master doesn’t fit) as the names.
The Highlander was a documentary, and the events occured in real time.
No idea what the deal with Frylock’s teeth is, but I’m pretty sure the jewel on his back is what lets him fly.
Just say Smith or Jones or something. It doesn’t matter, none of this matters.
No, it’s Frylock’s beard that lets him fly. This is easily proven by the fact that Shake, Meatwad, and Carl don’t have beards and they can’t fly. Frylock has a beard and he can.
SURFFFFFFFFFFFF… TURFFFFFFFFFFFF!
The only episode that connected the ATHF and the scientists was Episode 1, at least that I’ve seen. It’s just as well, as the scientists were funny, and the ATHF is funny, but them playing detective wasn’t really all that funny. Maybe just one of the things revised after a pilot episode?
According the the between-show Adult Swim Christmas … things, the gem on Fry’s back is the source of his power. I’m pretty sure the things on his teeth are braces, though I guess they could be blingin’ braces.
Dr. Weird was originally the source of the show’s villains, including the Rabbot, the leprechauns’ rainbow machine (they stole it from him), and, if I recall correctly, the vortex in the Balloonenstein episode. There might be a few others, but I can’t think of them.
“Steve, release the PHONE SPIDERS!”
He was connected, somehow, with MC Poopants.
Now I want candy.
Is it for the shorties?
I love the show where all the “villains” from the past shows get together and try to figure out how to destroy ATHF, because they’d all been thwarted in the past.
Oh, and when Meatwad talked about having a nic fit. That was just so adorable!
Nah, that’s not it. Remember when Frylock got a girlfriend on the internet and told her he was a fireman? At the end we see him clean shaven and still floating around. He tried to put on a firesuit, wanting to go meet her and impress her.
Thats exactly what it was according to an article I read.
The second episode, with the Moth Man and the vampire bus (you can tell by the wheels) and Shake’s light helmet and the trip to Memphis to visit the grave of Dracula (and the TV show Assisted Living Dracula which is pretty good but kind of slow moving) also related to Dr. Weird. Dr. Weird created the Moth Man, who promptly flew out of the Rabbot-shaped hole (made in episode 1) in his “impenetrable fortress.”
My favoite episodes:
Any Mooninites one, but most of all the one with the Foreigner Belt
MC Pee Pants (I had a strizoke in my brizain so I don’t move so good) and Sir Loin
Kidney Car
The one with Frylock’s shrink/expand ray
IIRC, the last two episodes (the shrink ray one and the meeting of the villains one) did not have Dr. Weird and Steve at all – they featured the Mooninites and the Plutonians (who are teh suck).
I really like the Dr. Wierd bits.
Steve: Hey Dr. Wierd I’m back.
Dr. Wierd: YOU GOT TAKE OUT…AND YOU DIDNT ASK ME IF I WANTED ANYTHING?!
Steve: Well, that’s because I thought you didn’t eat because food makes you…Dr Wierd rips his brain out crazy?
Dr. Wierd’s brain: starts shooting lasers GET ME SOME FRIES, BOY!
My friend pointed out that this was kind of continuation of when Steve ordered Hoagies and asked Dr. Wierd if he wanted one (Dr wierd tore his own head off )
The Mooninites rock. My all-time favorite character is a tie between Err and Carl.
Err: On the Moon, nerds get their pants pulled down and they are spanked with Moonrocks.
Did they get cancelled? Is this show still on? If it is, what season is it in?
Favorite Dr. Weird quote: “My mind!”
