I ask because lately I’ve been getting e-mails with German subjects and as far as I know, Y’all are the only ones outside of G’Dope that know I call Germany home.
The most recent e-mail was worded in German and when I scanned it, it wouldn’t let me download it because it contained a virus.
I am not accusing anyone, okay? And I certainly know that there are other very sophisticated methods of “harvesting” e-mail addresses.
Just asking, that’s all.

More likely just a typo. I get stuff with some asian language (Chinese or Korean?) and I don’t live there. Some times I get things from India wanting a job with my non-existant company.
Since you have an email address with sever digits at the end, the odds are that there are a hundred other names one digit off from yours.
I’ve had German spam in the past. Although the only German I can speak is to tell you my name and that I have a brother. For some reason I can also ask the best way to the train station. So I doubt your German spam has anything to do with the SDMB.
