I was invited to go see Alice when he comes to town, this month. I’ve never seen him in concert, and was wondering if anyone has seen him, Lately. I know he was once the king of the bizarre show. Lemme know, Thanks.
I saw him about a month ago, and as far as pure theatrics go, it was the best show I’ve ever seen. Go.
I really like him in the *Staples * commercial. Quite a nuanced performance, really.
Last I heard, two of the guys in his band were sons of Soupy Sales.
He just did a concert at the Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, and got good reviews. I didn’t attend, so I have no opinion.
Not incredibly recently, but I saw him in the late 90s. It was an incredible show with full-on theatrics, he is definitely worth seeing.
How old is he now?
Here we go Wiki says 57.
I’m not sure of that, but they were also in Tin Machine which was led by David Bowie.
I have a friend, a very senior sales executive in the software business, who was paired up with Alice Cooper in a golf tournament a few years ago. Boy was my friend suprised. He said Mr. Cooper was a pretty good golfer.
From what the announcers say Cooper is pretty close to a par shooter even on the courses the pros play. Of course the amateurs don’t play from the same tees, but they do play the same fairways, hazards, greens and hole placements.
Alice is hands down, bar none, the best! He rocks!
I’m seeing him in Vancouver on the 19th and Chilliwack on the 28th.
The man hasn’t slowed down at all. Don’t let his age scare you. Besides touring every year, with a full stageshow, he’s still putting out albums (Dirty Diamonds, released Aug 2 '05), doing a lot of charity golf and running his own charitable organisation, The Solid Rock Foundation. On top of that he has a five hour, five night a week syndicated radio show. Oh, did I mention that he owns a couple of resturaunts? Cooperstown, in Phoenix and Cleveland. Finally, he’s a family man, having been married to Sheryl for 29 years and being the proud father of Calico, who performs in his show, Dashiel, who has his own band and Sonora, who’s still in school.
Even though Alice has been sober for over twenty years, he still turns into the monster “Alice” on stage. It’s all there - the beheadings, the straightjacket, the mayhem. Spatter happens.
For goodness sake, GO!

No, But this weekend I made my obligatory (when I’m in Cleveland) trip to Alice Cooperstown, the sports bar/restaurant across the street from Jacob’s Field. I recommend the place heartily. Good service, approximately 850 TV’s hanging from the walls/ceilings, and some of the best burgers around.
