It's Alice Cooper's birthday. Yes, dammit, he's still alive!

Alive, kicking and rockin’! With a new album (out this past August) and still touring most of the year. As a matter of fact, I saw him twice in September, both awesome concerts, and finally met the man at a CD signing. Now I can die happy!

So, happy birthday to the Master, the King Of Shock Rock, all around nice guy and my Rock Star, Alice!

And you didn’t invite me to this part!?? After last year, when the Maidens got him a watch (don’t even ask me how much I donated to that cause  ), I’ll just be sending my best wishes this time out. Happy Birthday Master!! Can’t wait to meet you in May!

I knew you’d be along!

Oh, and I’m in my usual hangout and just heard a girl mention that it’s her birthday. She was very impressed when I told her who she shares with.

February 4th was my mom’s birthday too. I like Alice Cooper. “Welcome to my nightmare” would be an appropriate celebration.

I’ve never really been a big fan of Alice’s music, but I listen to his radio show on the classic rock station. I like his show. He’s funny and tells interesting stories.

I’ve told this before, but in an all-Alice, all-the-time thread, it’s worth repeating. I used to have quite long hair. Some friends stumbled across an old copy of Rolling Stone with his picture on the cover (and, in fact, here it is). They scanned it into a computer, changed his name to mine, and printed it out to give me a going-away present when I moved east. I still have it, even had it framed. I have to admit, it looked just like me (except not so much with the pearls).

Happy birthday, doppelganger.

Robot Arm, why oh why don’t you have a picture of yourself from that time that you could share?! < laments >

Happy Birthday Alice!! Last year we brought our daughter to her first concert, Alice Cooper! Long Live Alice.

Did he sing I Love The Dead? My parents used to hate that song.

Don’t need one, I can just use that picture of Alice.

Happy birthday, Vincent Fournier!

No, no, no. See, you don’t understand. I need one. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not sure if any pictures of me from that era still exist. I can only think of one or two that were taken at all. The long hair wasn’t a stylistic choice, really, more of an experiment in laziness.

But I’ll see what I can find.

He’s 18, right?

Lines form on my face and hands

And Alice may well “celebrate” by playing golf with his pal Kenny G.

(I’m not kidding- they ARE pals, and DO play golf together!)

Alice admits that he has a very addictive personality, and that the only way he was able to beat booze and drugs was by replacing them with another addiction (albeit a healthier one), golf.

Coop!

I just had a discussion yesterday with a friend…

Topic: What song most limited by the production values of the time would most benefit with the full force of current studio technology.

My friend was all “Beatles this” and “Dylan that” blah blah blah.

My vote: Halo of Flies. Man, that would kick ass if it could be given the full modern epic metal anthem retreatment.

I was a huge fan back in the day.

I heard him interviewed on NPR not long ago and he struck me as kind of annoying.

I guess I liked the character Alice Cooper more than the real person.

**Love It To Death **through Billion Dollar Babies, man I was into that!

I have several cooper albums. “Welcome” is my very favorite. I remember the summer of '75 like it was yesterday only because of that album! My brothers, my cousins, and I jammed to that thing all summer long! Wore the grooves rights off the freaking vinyl, I shit you not!!! A brownie point to anyone who can tell me who gave us the power without looking it up!

I have it. Unfortunately, I wasn’t overly impressed.:frowning:

Donnie Osmond!
