Has Netflix turned off auto-opening-credits-skip?

I’ve been binge watching some stuff recently, *American Dad! *and The Cleveland Show, and up until about two or three weeks ago when you let it auto-play the next episode it would also auto-skip that next episode’s opening credits. Now it doesn’t do that anymore. There’s only one setting to auto-play each episode in a series and it’s obviously still turned on, is there now another option for skipping the openings? Or did content providers just complain for some reason?

I know I didn’t like it on shows like Futurama or the Simpsons where there were different gags in each intro and Netflix would skip past it.

Do you use something other than their website on a PC or laptop? I’ve always used a PC and been using auto-play for years and it’s never skipped an intro. It does skip the last 15-30 seconds, but never the first in all the time I’ve been Netflixing. If you use something other than their website maybe it’s a feature of that device that’s now been modified.

I’ve had Netflix for a few months now (late adopter), mostly on Roku and it’s always played the American Dad! intros. The League appears to not have much of an intro. I don’t know if it’s Netflix’s fault or just the way they got the shows.

FYI: the Simpsons has always gone back and forth between showing the whole intro and showing a truncated version that starts with Marge almost running Homer down in the driveway and then straight to the couch gag.

Same here, I’ve never seen it skip an intro on my computer, my phone, or my Xbox One.

I’m viewing them thru my TiVo Roamio so I guess that matters. It would definitely skip right past the intro to the actual beginning perfectly. It did this for AD, Cleveland and Bob’s Burgers, then suddenly it didn’t anymore.

Upon Googling I see it does seem to be a Netflix/set-top device thing (XBoxs, Blu-rays, PS3s etc.) It also says something about doing it once and it then doing it each time automatically. This sounds familiar, but I still watch them the same way and haven’t been able to get it to start doing it again. One user also mentions pressing PLAY before the auto-next-episode-start counter reaches zero, but that doesn’t seem to work either…
