Turn off Autoplay on Prime

We watch shows on Prime on our Sony smart TV. At the end of an episode, a box pops up in the lower right corner showing what’s coming up next, and a timer showing when the show will automatically start – typically about 3 to 5 seconds. The problem is, sometimes we want to watch all of the credits. Someone posted they’re watching Dragnet on Prime, and I watched the first episode. At the end, the yellow-bordered box comes up and starts the next episode before the dénouement – where they give the results of the trial.

I found a video explaining how to turn Autoplay off: Open Prime, go to Settings, turn Autoplay off. It goes on to say to go to Home and click Refresh. I don’t see anything that looks like Refresh; however, after exiting Prime and getting back in, I see that Autoplay is still Off.

But it isn’t working. I went back to the end of the episode, played it, and the Autoplay box came on and went to the next episode before the end of the episode I was watching.

So: How do I make it stop, so that we can watch everything to the end?

On my Roku TV, I have what looks like a “back” arrow button that seems to double as a cancel button. If you hit that while the “next episode starting in…” box is appearing, it cancels that and current credits keep playing. Maybe your Sony TV remote has something similar.

But I don’t know how to deactivate autoplay, or turn off the damn previews for every show I select and don’t immediately move off of.

You could try turning off Autoplay from your browser.
Here’s where I found it—if that link doesn’t work for you, go to the Amazon website / Prime Video / Settings / Player

Thank you. Since Prime is under my wife’s account, I’ll let her know so she can try this from her computer.
