Has the Dallas tragedy, and other protests/violence killed the Clinton email scandal?

Is there a source for this? I hate Maureen Dowd and desperately want this tale to be true, but right now it’s only your assertion.

Your mom pillow talked it to Ukulele Ike.

I don’t think the email scandal will ever completely go away; it will just be used by the opposition in different ways. The GOP hoped that there would be enough for a prosecution – that didn’t happen. But that doesn’t mean that the content of those emails can’t be used against her later, at more opportune times.

Clearly, the Dallas shooting was a double false flag - Obama gets a chance to grab guns, and Hilary gets the heat off her for her scandalous email issues!

the Clinton email thing is not a “scandal,” it was a distraction.

It’s really not. The Clinton Foundation / State Department conflicts of interest ae the bigger story; we just hoped investigating the emails would turn something up to be prosecuted there. And of course there are the Goldman Sachs speeches; helping grow Islamic State in Libya; supporting a coup in Honduras, and did I just say she grew Daesh in Libya? Oh, that’s right, she did!

The emails might have been useful for what they revealed. Security sloppiness in itself is not a major issue. Thankfully, we can now move on to why she really has no business being President. (Arguably a bit late for anyone that does. :cough: )

Ike has been slandering the New York Times ever since they got sold to Rupert Murdoch; he wanted them to go to Jimmy Buffett for some reason, but I wouldn’t care to speculate why.

Wow, this kind of completely baseless assertion is fun!

No way to tell whether this is a whoosh or a serious statement, but just in case: The Wall Street Journal got sold to Rupert Murdoch, not the Times.

Whatever you think you’re saying, though (and I’m honestly baffled), I’m another one who finds that Maureen Dowd used to be an interesting columnist who destroyed her career by never getting past the 90s. The Clintons were a great target, but other stuff has happened since.

Dude, I’m tempted to warn you for that but I can’t even figure out what the hell you mean.

Keep the surrealism out of debates, please.

I think it’s exactly the opposite. In theory maybe you might excuse Clinton on the basis of ‘everyone does it’ and/or ‘the classification system is a mess’, doubtful IMO but mainly irrelevant to the issue here, the political reality that the FBI director said she in particular was ‘extremely careless with classified information’. And he noted a number of points where Clinton said things publicly about the incident which weren’t true according to the FBI. But, major but, he recommended against charging her with a crime. So again relative to the possible downside, great outcome for her. Relative to some narrative about how mishandling classified info is some non-issue and everyone should find better things to do than worry about it (including Comey I guess?), damaging outcome for her. Damaging enough to make a difference, who knows?

Black Violence Matters.

She’s likely to need her own Sister Souljah opportunity soon.

I was making fun of** Ukelele Ike.** Not remotely a serious statement. But I stand corrected on NYT’s ownership.

Who is “we”? :dubious:

Oh, never mind.

Oh, that’s right, there is no IS foothold in Libya, and if there is, you can’t prove US intervention had anything to do with it! Qaddafi was on the way out anyway! [/sarcasm]

Was I dreaming then when I saw the footage of a long line of people on the Libyan shore being executed by ISIS?

Obama’s AG Lynch was speaking to a U.S. Congressional committee about this scandal, Hillary’s carelessness, Bill’s suspicious airport hanger visit, and the Justice Dept’s decision making, just this morning. All of the media outlets covered it. It seems you’ve lost your bet.

The Loser’s Party had already announced they would continue the witch hunt as soon as Comey stopped talking. They couldn’t very well cancel the farce without losing face.

Hey, watch that stuff. I’m delicate.

Already answered.

I thought the fact that there was no scandal killed the scandal.

The staggering incompetence of Trey Gowdy and the Republican’s willingness to turn on the Republican FBI director certainly helped.

Ultimately, what killed the Clinton email kerfluffle (and what kills any other Clinton kerfluffles unless and until one rises to the level of an obvious genuine scandal) is the reputation for wolf-crying the Republicans gave themselves during the Bill Clinton years.
