For my part, I don’t subscribe to the forgiveness thing for people like this, nor to the notion of not wishing ill on people. It’s all tangled up in religious dogma, which I also don’t subscribe to. My first thought when I woke up this morning was “I wonder if he’s dead; or at least in a coma.” I was disappointed to see that neither was true. Judge me if you will.

So, I’m in bed right now, recovering from an appendectomy. I was in the ER Friday. My room was right across from the nurses station, and when my door was open, I could hear their conversations clearly. They were absolutely giddy that Trump has COVID. They were split pretty evenly, from what I could tell, between “he should die right now,” and “He should die in prison.” Didn’t hear anyone at all hoping he had a speedy recovery.
But that’s nurses for you, right? Callous and uncaring, almost by definition.
Hope things are going ok.
I for one, pray for him to have a speedy recovery. My prayers have never come true.
But, for anyone who has ever applauded at the death of anyone, be it Osama Bin Ladin, or Saddam Hussein, or a “thug” as described in the “positive gun news of the day” thread, to then criticize anyone who feels ill will towards someone who has caused much greater and more personal damage is the height of hypocrisy.
So, I do expect conservatives like @Tim_R.Mortiss to play their own games, and to try to make it seem as though those who have ill thoughts towards a man who has brought so much harm to our country to revel in their hypocrisy, thinking that they are throwing shit, but really just rubbing it on their own faces and laughing at those who express disgust at their actions.
For practical reasons, I prefer that Individual-ONE not succumb or become 25th-incapacitated, because that would leave his #2 analinguiphile in charge. If some voters were looking at the long-term prospect of voting for the milquetosty guy, the groups like never-trumpers and the lincoln project would likely dissolve and throw their support behind the non-boorish R. That would not be good.
I just read a marvelous quote: “I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituaries with great satisfaction.” - Clarence Darrow
Not the ideal thread to wish someone a full and speedy recovery, but you have only yourself to blame for bringing it up here. Be well, @Miller.
Two thoughts:
-
If you’re a Trump voter and didn’t even flinch at the vitriol he directed at people like Ilhan Omar, AOC, Mika B, or others, don’t even think of knocking liberals for nasty threads like these.
-
I don’t want Trump to die - far too easy and there wouldn’t be any justice in that. I want him to lose, to watch the country change presidents, change attorneys general, and watch the walls of justice close in on him one day at a time. I want to see him, his family, and his criminal enablers get prosecuted one after another over the next 4 years.
When they go low, we go high
When they go even lower, we go even higher
When they go underground
We go stratospheric
So as to nuke them from orbit
It’s the only way to be sure
You and your democracy-hating cohort can all fuck yourselves in your self-righteous gullible gaslighting asses. You’re all being conned as hard as the idiot that sends money to Nigerian scammers. You’re all gullible marks but my tax dollars are at risk.
Lucky for me, I’m pretty sure God is on my side and you’ll all be reduced to irrelevant dust. If Trump doesn’t drown in his own phlegm, he’ll probably reboot Trump University after his historic butt-pounding and you’ll probably beg him to take your $35,000.00 check so you can learn to be as rich as him. Sucker.
Whoa. Be my guru please.
It seems important that the President be made acutely aware of ALL the things for which people are praying:
Of course you also have to include the Clemens, “I was not able to attend the funeral, but I sent ahead a nice note saying that I approved of it.”
I don’t want him to die now. I want him to die in jail, humiliated, and in the next cell from his kids.
But until he admits he was wrong about Covid and apologizes for all those who followed his example and got sick and/or died - and who infected the innocent - he should be in excruciating pain for weeks.
That brought a tear to my eye, and a smile to the face of my yellow lab that was eerily reminiscent of the Mona Lisa.
Bless you.
Is there a death pool yet for Trump and his Oberkommando der COVID?
Dunno who that is, but he doesn’t have to watch if he doesn’t want to. The rest of the world, well, let’s just say if we livestreamed Trump’s slow fast, grisly, and painful death on pay-per-view, that alone could revive the economy.
I dunno know which moral mountain you’re nirvana-ing from, but it sounds kinda lame. I bet nobody farts up there either.
Sometimes people deserve to die. Sometimes it’s ambiguous. Other times innocent people unfortunately get mistakenly blamed. Trump is neither ambiguous nor innocent. He’s just, you know, evil – if that word is to have any meaning at all, Trump certainly is an exemplar (finally, something he’s good at!). And I would gleefully watch him suffer and die. Does that make me a saint? No. It makes me human.
Of course, you’re free to disagree. Shrug. That’s the thing about morality… probably no two humans would ever agree on any complete set of morals. We’re apes. And this ape just watched another one kill two hundred thousand. If that ain’t good justification for an execution, your moral world is not worth living in. You can keep that barren high ground and keep polishing it unto philosophical sterility. Doesn’t change the simple observation that the world would be a whole lot better off without Trump.
Shit. I knew I should’ve repainted my bridge camo when the season turned. Please don’t tell anyone else. People might start thinking for themselves and realizing what a great guy Trump was all along.
