The failure of “both stripes” to accomplish anything meaningful implies that they are both equally responsible, when the reality is that one stripe has attempted to enact affordable health care plans on multiple occasions going back almost 30 years, only to be fought and thwarted by the other stripe.
If words on a message board upset you, I can’t imagine how upset you must be by Trump actually putting people’s lives in jeopardy for a publicity stunt.
Your position is pathetic, weak, and hypocritical, and encourages people to be happy victims of monsters. You’re the kind of sanctimonious, whiny shit who try to make people feel bad for even thinking, much less acting, to defend themselves and those close to them from attacks - and in this case it’s even worse, because no one is talking about taking any actual action, they’re just wishing for something to happen. Instead of commiserating with people who see the direct and encouraged attacks of Trump against them, their families, their ability to count someone as family, the environment they live in, and their ability to live, you condemn them for wanting an awful, willful threat to suffer the fate they want to inflict on others. Whining about how ‘morally pure’ you are people are happy that someone who wants them and people close to them to die agonizing deaths is instead facing the fate they wish on others is not anything remotely good, it’s just an advanced form of victim blaming.
Yes, the republicans clearly bear more guilt when it comes to healthcare reform but I think it would be a stretch to suggest that the democrats have done everything they possibly could.
But that was just one example. Feel free to switch the subject to any other reform or action or inaction that impacts on life and limb, taken by a party in power or resisted by the opposition. A back of the fag packet calculation can soon throw up a plausible death toll in the thousands and you then wonder where the cut-off is for deserving summary execution. A CiC gets the chop for 200,000? but not for 150,000? 100,000?, 50,000? If the democrats were in power there seems to be an assumption that all those lives would be saved. I doubt it. And sure enough were the roles reversed with only half the death toll there’d be others of the opposite side calling gleefully for the painful death of Hilary and by the standards shown by some in this thread you’d have to say they’d be justified in doing so.
If that is what you feel comfortable with then fine, you are welcome to it. I’d not call for, nor wish for death in either case.
Have you somehow imagined that I want nothing but good to happen to Trump? Are you so blinded by your eye-for-an-eye revenge fantasy that you’ve lost the ability to read?
You’re arguing that the boater didn’t fight hard enough to get the rope out to the drowning victim. I think the most valid response to that is to “get bent”.
I can confidently say that the democrats have not done all they can in all circumstances to make life better for people. They have dropped the ball on numerous occasions and lives will have been impacted and lost because of it.
Note that were I a USA citizen I’d be democrat voter.
What outright calls for harm? Nobody’s saying we should sneeze on Trump to infect him.
The main person who caused Trump to get sick is Trump himself. He’s the one who let the disease run wild in this country. He’s the one who encouraged people to ignore proper medical procedures. He’s the one who won’t wear a mask. He’s the one organizing and attending public rallies.
Trump isn’t the innocent victim here. He’s the drunk driver who caused the accident.
He is indeed. The question is what to do about it. Take him off the road and lock him up? or hope he crashes and dies? My preference is for the former.
