That is because I happen to have a handicap. To write what I have written thus far has been hard because I’ve been typing all day. I have a back problem that makes me temporarily lose a great deal of the motor control of my right hand and leg if I overexert.
To type this, I am mostly doing it with my left hand as I can’t move the fingers of my right dextrously enough to type with both. So, when this happens, I spend a lot of time fixing typos and it takes me down to about 14 wpm.
I wish to respond at length to the posts you mentioned. I cannot do that with the way my hand is. I will be in Seattle tomorrow. I will respond on Monday at the latest.
And I’m sure that in the interviening time, SPOOFE will just use this as another example of my martyrdom.

But you have a bad track record of doing such, or else A: this thread wouldn’t exist, and B: there wouldn’t be so many people telling you that you often behave in such a manner.
In my last post I was presuming nothing about what you want except that such a thing exists. You seem to want equal rights for gays. You certainly have strong opinions on the matter. You probably also have some idea of how best to achieve that, and exactly what the current state of affairs is as far as gay rights go. In december’s case, a disagreement over certain issues (such as the number of gay teens subjected to harrassment) seems to have led you to believe that he is opposed to gay rights.
Yes, he repeated “facts” that were misleading or incorrect and that were the product of homophobes. However, it seems obvious that he was doing so because he believed said facts were true, not as a means of furthering any sort of homophobic agenda. Your assumptions as to his motivations is more a product of your own mind than a rational reaction to anything he said. Also, calling people names doesn’t serve to advance the debate, just as you’re probably more likely to consider what I’ve said in this post than in the ones where I’ve called you an asshole.

I had been typing all day getting ready for a seminar that I leave for in 15 minutes. I can only type for a few hours, and then my right hand starts slipping on the keys and locks up. That I should be criticize for such a thing and then have it questioned and treated as an evasion tactic is disgusting.
Hastur, you have my sympathies for your disability. And as I’ve said before, I really have no huge stake in this. But the thing I keep coming back to is - you still had time to respond to some people. Some people. You obviously are going to have to pace yourself because of the disability, and I understand that. But who you decided you needed to reply to right away, and who you decided could wait is still making me ponder.
Hastur, why is it “disgusting” for some of us to wonder why you pick who you pick to respond to first? Manda JO and I are certainly not unsympathetic of your disability. But I personally don’t get something - if I had only so much energy, and I had a whole lot of people who I needed to respond to, I’d either go down the list, (like MandaJO suggests) or I’d pick the most comprehensive and reasoned posts first. I wouldn’t use my precious energy to respond to posts with throw-away lines first.
