ATMB is filled with suggestions from Dopers about improving the performance of the board, asking for an edit function, suggesting new rules, and so on. Most of the time, whenever there’s been a staff response, it’s along the lines of “no” or “maybe in the future.”
What user suggestions have actually recieved a positive response from SDMB staff? Which ones have actually been implemeted?
The message that appears when you click ‘Report Bad Post’ used to say something along the lines of “NEVER EVER EVER REPORT A BAD POST OR YOU WILL DIE A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE DEATH”, and it seems to revert to that whenever the message board software is upgraded. It’s often a user who has to remind the staff to change it back to a more friendly message. I’m not sure who originally suggested replacing it with a friendlier message, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was a user suggestion.
The suggestion about upgrading from the 486 that they use as a server hasn’t been implemented…
Suggestion, hell. It’s been a loud chorus from Dopers world-wide, sounding much like a large pack of angry wolves howling at a full moon.
A member – I don’t recall who – suggested some rewording of the forum descriptions to make it clearer what went where (that cooking, comics, and crafts goes to Cafe Society, e.g.) – this was implemented a few months ago.
