When we got the satellite and went back to broadband, I started out with my Linksys ’ f41 ’ 4 port router. then the other day I swapped it out for my 8 port ’ f 81 ’ and all seemed well.
Then I noticed on about every boot up where the computer had set over night, it would skip the network password log in little window and go straight into full launch. LD’s computer does not do this. Mine never has before in years of use.
So I switched back to the 4 port and it is still doing it.
Now once while still on the 8 port, I noticed that my computer was way slow and I thought , "Uh Oh !!! "
So I ran ‘Hijack This’ and could see nothing unusual nor did I see anything with the 3 finger salute.
Never has acted slow since that one time.
In control panel – networking – all seems normal.
In run – winipcfg – all seems correct but I did “release all and renew all” anyway. No changes noted.
Nothing ion ZoneAlarm has changed or been messed with.
How is my Win 98se getting past the network password log in window?
Adaware, SpyBot, hijack this, virus scan, all nada…
Any ideas and help will be appreciated…
