Much better than shooting them off at 11 pm when I’m trying to sleep! Why do they insist on starting so late all the time?
We had some guys throwing them at each other in Little Rock, and when the cops came, at the cops.
Throwing fireworks at men with guns? Doesn’t strike me as a good idea…
Two reasons I can think of.
One, it has to be dark, or it’s not really worth doing.
Two, it’s much easier not to get caught late at night.
They’ve been a nightly occurrence here in Memphis. For at least two weeks. Sometimes, as late as midnight.
I heard them again just now, which is what reminded me of this thread. Kinda wish it would stop, but on the other hand, that might be the only levity some people have right now.
Much to their credit, the police did not fire their weapons.
Lots of them, unusually many. Some seemingly professional grade. Northern Virginia.
I haven’t noticed more than usual, but it’s actually pretty typical to hear fireworks all summer, despite there being a town ordinance against them.
However, WMUR recently said that there have been several times more complaints in the Manchester area than is normal for this time of the year. Thank God we finally got a couple of inches of rain because we just entered a drought stage last week and we all saw how that went in Utah…
Yes, it has been going on in our area for a while, and is a hot topic on the Nextdoor neighborhood app.
Last night (Canada Day), we had neighbours a few doors down from us in either direction firing significantly more fireworks than usual.
Pretty much every night for the past two weeks. Last year, the illegal home fireworks were pretty much limited to the 4th and then on the following weekend.
Mercifully the local idiots haven’t ben shooting them off at 3AM, at least not yet. It’s been a mix of things that just go BOOM or pop pop pop pop pop, and a few actual visible fireworks. Never mind that they’re illegal in the county and there are portable roadside message boards and banners all over reminding people of this.
