Have you already voted?

Yes, yesterday in Texas. No wait although there was a lot more activity than I expected.

My wife and I voted Tuesday night and mailed the ballots off yesterday. We live in Washington.

We disagreed on only one or two things on the entire ballot. I’d guess historically we disagree about a quarter or a third of the time, but it was way less this year.

When we voted, we sat down at the kitchen table with the kids and talked through how we were voting and why as we did it. An impromptu civics lesson, if you will.

Just early voted today in Ohio. Was surprised by how enormous and relatively well-organized it was. Volunteers from both political parties were outside in the parking lot handing out sample ballots and yard signs. I watched for a while, and everyone I saw who took a ballot took the D one.

I could vote today if I wanted to, but for some reason, I have this very odd feeling that the early votes will be tampered with or something. I know it’s completely irrational paranoia, but I think I’ll probably just vote on election day. And then I’ll be sick for the next 12 hours hoping that the people of Ohio have better judgement than they did two years ago when electing our piece of garbage governor.

I could do it absentee, but I prefer the full ritual of doing it in person on Election Day. The experience makes it feel more important, as if I’m taking the responsibility as seriously as possible. With an all-mail system, even if it were physically easier, it’s hard for me to see it as having the same visceral significance, something I’d take as much pride in taking on as responsibly as I can.

Mailed my expat/overseas ballot a couple weeks ago. It goes to SC.

A couple local offices (water board and such) had no candidates so some family members got a write in vote.

I voted this afternoon. Early turn out has been huge in all of Clark County (Nevada), according to the poll workers I spoke with.

I voted this morning. I had to go to large and in charge downtown Leesburg, GA for work purposes so I decided while I was there to go ahead and early vote as that is the only place to early vote in Lee County, GA. I wouldn’t have gone just for the purpose of early voting but since I was already there I decided to do the town. In Leesburg that means I early voted and then got a burger from Hardee’s. I suppose I could have also gone to the local IGA store and the pool hall as well, but, hey, gotta leave some excitement for another time.

I like to vote. It always feels good to say I cast my ballot. Plus, in Georgia, we get these really cool “I’m A Georgia Voter” peach stickers. I get all excited about getting my sticker. Chronologically I am 58 years old. Inside, I am six years old so I’m all “YAY! STICKER!”

Did the same here.

Voted absentee in Michigan, turned in my ballot yesterday.

Husband & I both early voted. We are in Iowa so I have a little more assurance of our votes counting.

I voted yesterday. The place was a lot less crowded than when I voted early in 2008., but there was still a steady stream of people.

I miss the old “I Voted” stickers they used to give out.

Our early voting machines were the kind with the paper receipt that you can see printing up in the window as you push the button. I actually trust those more than the light-up machines I used for my first few voting experiences.

I also voted yesterday. Waited about 15 minutes. And I got a sticker! :science:

In 2008 it was more crowded but the line moved faster. I guess they were expecting the crowds.

Voted in person on Friday. I’m in TN. There was a long line but they had 5 or 6 poll workers and plenty of voting cubbies, so it moved pretty quickly. No stickers though

Vote at around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday last week in Chicago. No line, no wait. Only one other voter at the time.

I did. Military absentee ballot through my home state of New Jersey.

Tripler
Thank God for the USPS.

I’m a California permanent absentee voter. I filled out my ballot last night during the World Series game – it gave me a double dose of civic pride. I will probably mail it tomorrow.

During the last election the race for county supervisor in my district was insanely competitive, and I shook hands with the top two candidates numerous times. Earlier this week, I ran into the one I voted for (he lost), who is now running for Community College Board. I voted for him again – sooner or later, he has to win something.

I voted at City Hall as soon as I could, October 5 I think it was. I’ll be out of town on Election Day. The phone calls stopped except for one which I did pick up. Caller ID said it was a cell phone and it turned out to be a very young-sounding candidate for some minor city post. He did want to know if I’d voted for him which I thought was sweet. I told him yes but truthfully I had already forgotten his name.

Voted early in Dupage County, IL yesterday. There was about a five minute line or so, it was pretty busy, considering.
