Who are these people who take issue with my comic collection?
My non-diving husband gets bent out of shape about how much time and money I spend on scuba.
(Not really; he’s great about it. But I wanted to play too.)
I’ve been grilled over my love of barbecuing.
I can barley wait to get to the single-malt Scotch I bought the other day.
other than told i was going to go to hell for playing dungeons and dragons it didn’t help I had the 1st ed guide that had the red demon on the front… oh and being told when I was a young lad that ez bake ovens were for girls … despite having several talented chefs cooks and bakers in the fam … no
I had a friends girlfriend in college who always got super annoyed when I talked with my friend about movies or TV shows. “Why is it all you do is talk about what you watched? Don’t you actually have a life outside of a screen?” Then when I would talk about him about books or magazine articles I read she would then say “What are you reading about the lives of fictional people? What don’t you do something to improve yourself instead?”
To this day I wonder what her she did for fun, just stare at the wall?
People wanna get all hissy because I have a couple of cats.
Those same people treated me kind of ruff because of my dogs.
A lot of people can’t stand my love of yoga.
But seriously, folks… I retired so I’d have more time to read in the local coffeeshop, and a while back a woman from the 'hood stopped by my table: “Hi! Whatcha reading?” When I showed her my Paper Girls comic book she said “Oh…” With a mixture of disappointment and judgement.
I was so tempted to say “But look at the art, the limited color palette… and here she is talking to her her future self!” But I didn’t think they’re be any convincing her.
People tell me to change my hobby of collecting coins.
Don’t read the Bible or books with Trump’s icky face on the cover in public. You will be harassed.
I’ve been told, somewhat waspishly, that my insect collecting makes them antsy. But I didn’t let it bug me.
(Actually true
)
I do not play it that loud honestly. I had some cheap head phones back in the day. You could hear what I was listening to if you were close enough. Also the issues was not the noise volume of the music. My post clearly states they both had a problem with what music I was listening to not the volume. They did not ask me to turn the music down. They complained about what I was listening to.
No joke I was thinking about buying a Maga hat,but an afraid I may get shot.
I had a relative who had a hobby of collecting coins and one who had a hobby of spending other peoples coins. They had a falling out.
Thanks. I honestly why that dude was dressed like that. I saw him at least two more times come out of a night club that was in the area.
No this really did happen to me. Most of the stuff that has happens to me I do not even tell people because they think I am making up some crap.
I used to stare at the wall when I was younger. My parents took me off that medication I was on.
lol, I buy good ones these days. The last strike was when some woman with kids wanted to fight me because she was mad I was listening to Frank Sinatra, I said let me go buy some good head phones so I do not have this issues any more.
