Have You Ever...?

Yes. My ex-wife used to make a great meal of Singapore noodles, and she left her recipe behind. She made it look so easy; how hard could it be? I found out, and created an inedible mess.

Have you ever driven more than 600 miles in a single day?

Have you ever stolen anything, valued at greater than $10.00 ?

Close, but no. The longest I’ve ever driven in a single day was from my eastern Ohio hometown to my girlfriend’s house in southeastern Vermont. Google Maps tells me it’s 570 miles door-to-door. That was the most exhausting day of driving in my entire life. Never again!

ETA: No, I did some petty shoplifting in my early teens that I’m not proud of, but never anything worth more than $10.

HYE been to Vermont in the past five years?

Close but not quite. I’ve been to every other New England state in the past 5 years as well as upstate NY and Quebec, and looking at the map I’ve been 10-15 miles from Vermont, but it’s 11 years since I was actually in the state. I’d love to see it again, especially the Lake Champlain area.

Yes, I was on the varsity field hockey team in high school.

Probably. But I can’t recall any specific event where that occurred.

Yes, but it was done entirely in jest. And the recipient understood that too.

HYE used a CB radio?

Yeah; we used to have one in the car when I was a kid, and so did my grandparents. I distinctly remember calling them on the CB radio to say our last goodbye (for awhile) after we went separate ways from a restaurant. This was before the proliferation of cellular phones, of course. ARGH, I’m frustrated that my grandparents didn’t live to see the dawn of unlimited talk and text plans.

Yes. Us Cub Scouts were asked to help. It wasn’t very wild where we were.

I haven’t, but close–I’ve performed in a community chorale and in high school theater.

Have you flown in anything other than a commercial aircraft?

I’ve flown in an old coworker’s Cessna. That was some scary shit (he’s green/yellow colorblind and not generally the kind of guy I’d trust with my life)

Have you ever owned a non-traditional pet?

Not me, myself, but Madame P. has had a baby alligator and a couple of fancy rats. My next door neighbor has a ferret. I just have a cockatiel.
Have You Ever sung a solo with live orchestral accompaniment?

Yes. I participate with a local community theatre group that does musicals. I’ve sung solos, backed by the live musicians in the pit.

Have you ever been on a workplace team (bowling team, softball team, etc.)?

No, but I have gone bowling with coworkers at least once as a team-building exercise. We also took time out of a day to have a picnic and play some kickball with several other stores in the region. Fun times!

I almost died once but as to the classic ‘experience’ where one reportedly sees their life flash before their eyes in an instant…that didn’t happen.
