Yes, a guy down the block from us when I was a kid had one of those little brass cannon that make a big boom. He let me and other neighborhood kids fire it on the Fourth of July, with our parents’ permission.

Yes, I fired off a black-powder rifle during a school demonstration…and found out that missing the broad side of a barn isn’t that difficult at all.

No. But when I was a small child, I got a little too curious about the electric outlets in our house. Let’s just say that I was thrown halfway across the room. No permanent damage, but the experience taught me a healthy respect for electricity. Including tasers. I’ve seen them used on TV documentaries, and they remind me of that long-ago experience. Not something I’d want to experience again.

Yes, both intentionally and unintentionally. The first time ever, I was a kid on a trail ride rent-a-horse. For some reason my horse bolted and ran about 100 yards. I hung on. Scared the crap outa me. Now I do it for fun.

Yes, five, but they were deceased and in a cadaver bag. I helped out at a horrible animal hoarder home. Long story, even the short version is too much.

Yes, a Boy Scout uniform when I was active in Scouts, as well as that of a Royal Marine for a high school production of HMS Pinafore; a Napoleonic soldier for Halloween one year; and a Starfleet uniform for another Halloween and also for an amateur film. I think that’s it.

No, I have always been able to climb back down or safely jump out as far as I can recall. Though I had a mini freak-out once after climbing a water tower. I had to compose myself before climbing back down while completely terrified the whole time.

No, fortunately, although now and then when we were very young.
