Yes, I’ve seen many. I sat out on the verandah of our house in Calgary, smoking my pipe, and watching the auroras shape-shift. Between my pipe and the auroras, it was oddly calming.

Not me, but my ex-wife. We were vacationing and staying at a nice hotel, and when we came back late one evening, I suggested a nightcap in the hotel bar. I had a Maker’s Mark on the rocks–not something I’d typically drink at our local pub–and my wife wanted “something special” too. The waitress suggested a Cosmopolitan, so my wife ordered it. She had never had one before, but she liked it.

Actually, yes. A friend and I used to rent ourselves out for Christmas parties, wedding receptions, and similar; back when I did my undergrad. Tending bar was a nice boost to my bank account, especially since I was a student.

Yes, I dated at least two men I met at graduate school events, which surely should count as university mixers.

Yes, all that you listed. I was into cement a few years ago and mixed up a bunch of it with a drill attachment and made cement planters. I used a giant food mixer in a commercial kitchen for pancake batter for a pancake breakfast fund raiser. That thing was scary.

Not for a lot of people, just a half-dozen or so. But they were good company, and we had a fine time and a delicious meal.

Yes, and one of those times was during elementary school. Kids took turns punching my arm for not wearing green.

Yes, when I was a new driver on the Meadowbrook Parkway on Long Island, I came up to a “right lane ends” sign and then suddenly it did end, just a few feet ahead. I was paralyzed with shock and fear and my fiance had to grab the steering wheel and pull us over.
