There has been some speculation that she is the Carol Stream, but I should think we’ll never know.
I know that it is. But you cut out the second bit of my question. Nor does the fact of the town’s existence really answer the question as to why someone would choose a name that starts with ‘Carol’ and then get annoyed when people assume that you’re probably a woman.
Let alone never revealing your gender, continually dropping lame hints, and acting like a prima donna jerk whenever anybody uses either a masculine or feminine pronoun to describe you… and doing the same thing if they use a neuter one. So “Carol” has a feminine user name that allows it to pitch a fit upon any gender assumption, and picks fights if people assume it is a guy, a girl, or try to avoid its bizarre retard-rage by referring to it with a neuter pronoun.
It’s all a rather stupid troll game that was obviously set up at or before the moment that it registered to post here, and I wonder why it’s been allowed to go on so long.
Its good that Evelyn Waugh did not live to see this sorry state of affairs.
Sorry, perhaps if I had left a longer version and just bolded the part I did have an answer to, it would have been more clear that I share your befuddlement about the full question. Just clearing up one minor point that you kind of left hanging, even if it didn’t actually need clearing up, as it turns out.
Ah, well thanks then for trying to share some information. I actually found it out during one of the previous outrage-fishing-expeditions that Carol habitually engages in. It was news to me then and still strikes me as a rather strange name for a town. But I suppose Carol has at least served a minor purpose here; some of us have had our ignorance of geography fought in a small way.

Let me correct this right off the bat. I am not the Carol Stream, nor have I ever claimed to be. It’s just a silly user name based on where I live.
OK, now we know. So much for idle speculation.
