There’s numerous news articles claiming these Taco sales created 15,000 jobs. They’re opening 2000 new stores in the next ten years.
Ok, I went and bought four of the new Cool Ranch tacos. They were good. The shell was fresher and crisper than the regular Taco Bell taco. It filled me up.
But, I’m not getting the excitement? I have no desire to rush out every few days for a doritos locos taco. I might not buy more doritos locos tacos for a couple months.
Is it just me? Are these Tacos the greatest thing since sliced bread?
Fill me in! I want to understand this cultural phenomenon.
Tried them; wasn’t impressed. I like Doritos, but the Doritos taco shells (at least the ones I had) were thinner and staler than the typical chips out of a bag.
I voted “good but I rarely buy them.” I really like them, but sometimes they don’t like me back. I want to try the Cool Ranch variety but I’m afraid they might hurt me.
I was prepared to hate it but I have to say I really liked the nacho cheese version. Haven’t tried cool ranch yet but I don’t like the chips that well so I don’t have high hopes on the taco. No complaints with the nacho ones though.
I love 'em, but I liked Taco Bell anyway. As far as these things go, Doritos for a crunchy taco shell was an awesome idea. They’re too expensive, however, relative to the regular crunchy taco. I just hope the new Doritos flavors (cool ranch) being introduced do not infect the regular Doritos shells with a sour cream flavor. They’d better keep an eye on that!
I don’t care for them for regular tacos. But a Cheesy Gordita Crunch with a nacho Dorito shell instead of the regular taco is heaven. What’s amusing to me though is making that substitution adds 60 cents. So assuming the Dorito shells are basic taco shells with Dorito cheese powder on them, they’re saying the powder is worth 60 cents.
The nacho cheese ones were pointless. It basically just tasted like a normal taco if eating the taco normally, but you could taste the nacho cheese dust if you licked the shell. And the shell wasn’t as strong as the normal ones; they usually fell apart getting taco mess everywhere.
I tried them and liked them, but I can’t eat at Taco Bell now because of gluten issues (no idea what they are doing there, but they put gluten in everything).
I’m a little sorry now that I know they have cool ranch ones. I love cool ranch Doritos. Ah well.
They were promoting them big time at SXSW last week and people were lining up for those things when they were in the town of the best tacos ever. I definitely see this being huge for them. I’ve had a Cool Ranch one, and I will probably get another, but not for months.
Oh, how I miss Late Night Cheeseburger Doritos! I still look for them on the shelves, even though I know they are no more!
I make burritos with sharp cheddar, rolled up in flour tortillas, and they’re OK, but if I put in lightly crushed Doritos, they are transformed into something almost great!
