When I try to use any of the buttons on Yahoo! mail (delete, reply, new, etc) nothing happens. Buttons on other sites work fine. Buttons on other Yahoo! sites work fine. I have confirmed the problem is at my end.
I am running Firefox 2.0.0 20 on a Windows ME machine.
According to this Yahoo support page the OS requirements for Yahoo Mail are:
* Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7
* Mac OSX "Tiger" and "Leopard" (10.4 & 10.5)
According to this Yahoo support page the browser requirements for Yahoo Mail are:
Windows XP, Vista, and 7:
* Internet Explorer version 6 and newer
* Firefox version 2.0.0.1 and newer
* Safari version 3.0.4 and newer
* Google Chrome version 1 and newer
Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, and 10.6
* Safari version 1 and newer
* Firefox version 2 and newer
Your version of FF is supported but not your OS. Is 2.0.0.20 the highest version you can run? Have you tried using whatever version of Internet Explorer you have, just to see if it works?
Also, have you tried switching to Mail Classic, if that’s not already the one you use? Yahoo support page
I am using mail classic.
As an experiment, I turned off Adblocker for my mail page. The buttons now work fine. It looks as though something I did to block ads on the page caused the buttons not to work. Last week marked the re-appearance of ads on my mail page. I clicked to block them (I don’t remember if I did add frame or add image). Apparently, I screwed up the page.
I now need advice on how to get AdBlocker working on that page again.
Are you possibly running the NoScript add-on for Firefox?
Sometimes buttons like this are controlled by scripts, and if you forget to allow scripts on the page, NoScript will prevent them from working.
I might be. How do I check?
I don’t think that’s the problem since the page worked fine until last week and I didn’t download any new add ons last week.
Tools menu, Addons, see if it’s in the list.
You (or someone else) will have had to download & install this; it does not come by default.
