Hawkeye, new Marvel show on Disney+

I doubt they’re going to do it, but it would be interesting if the reason she encouraged Kate’s sports was to build her own “Avenger” (or supervillian) for Bishop Security, if even just for marketing. After all, Kingpin was trying the same thing with Bullseye.

By the way…I don’t know how ‘well-done’ Pugh’s Russian accent is…it’s at least fun and consistent.

He’s awesome as Big (the sheriff) on Reservation Dogs.

Also, evidently she insisted on eating the mc and cheese with hot sauce while shooting.

Wait…you mean people out there actually eat M&C without hot sauce?

Communists.

In the first episode Clint spies some graffiti in the theater’s bathroom that reads, “Thanos was right.” So Thanos appears to be common knowledge.

He also drinks out of a coffee mug that says “Thanos was right” in Kate’s aunt’s apartment.

Right now, I’m leaning into one of:

  • She was never a field agent. She is one of the many, many people who make SHIELD work who don’t get shot at on a regular basis. Moving to the farm was a change of venue, but not of duty and she still has the same career.
  • She got injured and had to retire.
  • She got blown and had to disappear (they showed something like this with Mockingbird & Hunter in Agents of SHIELD - I don’t remember the details, but SHIELD dropped them and they went off to star in their own show (which didn’t get picked up)).

Jack is so weird that I thought for a moment that he was some sort of android. He’s just unsettling.

I’m sure his persona that we see is an act, but it’s also sorta meant to be seen as an act (by we the audience). Note the no-look sword deflection, the biggest hint at his true nature.

Yeah. The character is pushing an “affable, goofy, harmless guy” facade; the actor is playing in the uncanny valley near the “affable, goofy, harmless guy” - to give the audience the hint that there’s something deeper.

Yeah. Jack’s superpower is disarming other characters with his affability while making it obvious to the audience and the hero that it’s all an act. I’ve been waiting 30 years for the other shoe to drop on Ned Flanders.

You may have missed it but Flanders is a mur-diddley-urdler.

And Satan.

And the last line, at the end of the season finale, is the protagonist angrily muttering: “Stupid, Sexy Flanders…”

In Far From Home when they’re flying to Europe, there’s a shot of a Thanos documentary as an option to watch. Really, I think the events of Infinity War are pretty common knowledge, but what went all down in Endgame is more secret, particularly the time travel stuff, which would open up a whole can of worms.

…as time travel is wont to do.

Well now. That was unexpected. And also very expected. And not very satisfying.

Still… at least it had Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy in it.

The post-credits scene was great, though. With an uncredited Adam Pascal (who was in both Rent and School of Rock) as the main vocalist. I’d know that voice anywhere.

The ending was a bit of a letdown, but I liked the ending better than the new Spider-Man, which I also saw today.

And it looks like Laura Barton is Mockingbird after all. The watch had the SHIELD logo on the back, along with an engraved “19” on it. In the comics, she also sometimes used the alias “Agent 19.

Yelina’s turn was expected, but her turn came too fast. I would have preferred that she got the info from another source, but it seems implausible, considering that Clint is the only one who knows exactly what happened, and anything else would just be hearsay.

Wow, that… sucked. I really liked everything in the series up until this episode but - that didn’t have even one unpredictable or even surprising story beat, except for one, and even the one surprising thing was a massive letdown in a different way.

I won’t say too much until everyone has had a chance to see it, but ugh.
