He Hate Me FF keeper league - year 8

Loser doesn’t automatically get first pick - they just get top seeding (probably) in the consolation bracket.
And I just lost Dez Bryant, so I’m down to Mike Williams/SEA at the WR spot, unless Austin Collie somehow heals up.

But it does look like a pretty even matchup.

I have a terrible week 15 schedule - I’m probably going to miss out on my chance in the title game. On the upside, I have a really good shot at third place since my week 16 schedule looks really good. Not that’s worth jack…

If the Giants @ Vikings game is cancelled – which likely won’t be known until after kickoff today – I am calling the following changes to my roster:

  1. Jacoby Ford starts in Hakeem Nicks’ spot

  2. Lawrence Tynes dropped in favor a FA from this list, in order, starting the first one available:

Shaun Suisham (Pit - K)
Steve Hauschka (Den - K)
Nate Kaeding (SD - K)
Billy Cundiff (Bal - K)
Connor Barth (TB - K)
Rob Bironas (Ten - K)

Anyone with Giants and Vikings on their roster is free to post a similar contingency plan. I will honor any plan posted before (or even shortly after) kickoff of the players involved.

I wonder if I should set up something like that for my leagues. What are the actual chances the game will just be flat out cancelled? How does fantasy football handle it - does everyone post post 0s?

I haven’t a clue. As a Giants homer I’m particularly at risk, so I’m posting plans as necessary. For example, in the Auction league it doesn’t matter since I’m 8th of 10.

If there are people who don’t check their roster before gametime who live in a cave I guess they could plausibly not know about this. I’m wondering if we should have an automatic policy of next highest projected player automatically getting filled in for a Vikes/Giants player. Not much time to hash out the issue unfortunately. I’d hate to see people take 0s, especially in a playoff game.

Matt Prater is inactive. What the fuck?

Groin injury. Maybe you should get your shit straight! They signed someone else yesterday.

No update on Rotoworld or Yahoo. In fairness, I haven’t paid much attention to my SDMB league teams for the last couple of weeks, having been eliminated from contention weeks ago. I’m still alive for the first pick in the dynasty league, though!

PlayoffS!?!?!?! Did you say playoffs?!?!?!?!

Amazing - good luck to everyone (but not tooooo much luck for anyone wierd, or anyone Dave).

Well, its over for another year. Weirddave gets the crown. Congratulations.

The finals were close, with Dave winning by just about 5 points and Spiritus by just about 4 points. And both the 3rd and 4th teams would’ve blown out the winner. Great games.

I had a rough season, but I pretty much expected that going in. I hadn’t had a true keeper (though my Beanie Wells love this year was a catastropic mistake in almost all my leagues), and had a mediocre year.

I have McFadden and Vincent Jackson for sure for next year, which hopefully will give me a head start on next year. God knows I could use any help I can get.

If I get a bit of time later (been a busy few weeks), I’ll post more of my thoughts. But, for now, Congratulations Dave.

I had the top 3 RBs, and managed to finish 4th. I hate all of you. My TE was #3, but didn’t do shit when he needed to. Orton/Cutler wasn’t a bad duo, and I did a decent job playing the matchups - so I can’t blame them. But it was my WRs that really let me down in the stretch. Welker stopped producing, Boldin never did, and Edwards (who finished as my best WR) was a total disgrace.

On paper, this team is ridiculous. I scored 1508 points - no one scored in the 1400s. In other words, I beat everyone by a really good week’s score. But going into the playoffs, I could see that my Week 15 matchups were awful, and I put up a horrendous 72.57 - my second-worst week of the season.

I go into 2011 with power. Jamaal Charles in the 3rd. Vernon Davis in the 10th. Sidney Rice in the 5th. And…dammit. If I had taken Boldin with #28 and Foster with #29, I’d get Foster in the 1st. Or not dropped Matt Cassel…

Don’t beat yourself up, you can’t keep 3rd rounders anyway.

Just an FYI for the group, I gathered the complete add/drop list for this entire season and hope to be putting together the end-of-season wrapup in the near future. In the meantime, please to enjoy the the regular season rankings. (Through week 14.)

As the lockout gets rumored to be closer and closer to over, my interest is starting to increase little by little. In looking back over my fantasy football from last year, I realized something.

It was my worst fantasy football year ever.

Even my very first year (oh so long ago) when I was a co-owner who let my partner convince me Rae Carruth was going to be the next Marvin Harrison, I did better than last year. My best finish was 3rd place in the Big League, but I had a 5th (of 12), a 9th (of 10), a 11th (of 14 in this league), and a horrible 8th or 10 in my money league. It was a very bad year all around.

It only makes me want it more this year. I got McFadden in the 8th, VJ in the 6th, and likely Marshawn Lynch in the 10th. I need a nice start like that to avoid the catastrophe that was last year.

Ah, football!!

Starting next year, I’d like to propose we be able to keep third rounders in the 1st. I’d gladly have been able to keep Foster had I drafted him one pick later, considering I’ll be drafting near the bottom of the first round this year.

Should I consider keeping Eli in the 3rd? My only other potential keeper is Harvin in the 7th, which is an obvious, definite, must-do.

Hang out just a little longer. The intro part of the thread is done, and I’m working my way through the eligible keeper lists. I’ve copied out all 14 final rosters and processed 9 of 14 to remove all players that hit the waiver wire last year. Next is to remove all the draft picks from the first 3 rounds, then add in the round drafted and keeper info (removing those that have expired) and I’ll be posting the new thread. Should be very soon, like tonight or tomorrow soon.

New thread is up.
