We have our playoff teams set. Congrats to Weirddave (Baltimore Weirdos) and RNATB (Nine Inch Neils) for getting first round byes in a tough, competitive league this year. My money’s on Dave, but I like the Carcossa Yellow Kings as an underdog these playoffs. There are always some kind of shenanagins in the playoffs to upset the status quo.
There’s some nice keeper value for the upcoming years. Lamar Jackson, the #1 QB, has, I believe, one more year of eligibility to be kept. DJ Chark and Deebo Samuel were both last round picks and impressed as rookies. I’m holding out hope Derrius Guice can stay healthy for once. Should be interesting.
For me, it was another year of mediocrity and bad luck. I was 5th in total points, 5th in their rankings system, and I had the highest +/- owner rating in the league with +36. Yet, thanks to a league high 1344.07 points against (almost 100 points more than any other team), I didn’t even get a whiff of the playoffs. Such is life in fantasy football. That’s why you play the game on paper.
To the playoff teams: Good Luck. To the rest of us, well done on another season. I’m sure next year will be our year.
Looks like this is the fourth year with the current playoff format - top 6 teams in the championship bracket, first two get byes; teams 7-12 in the consolation bracket, 7 and 8 get byes. Winner of the consolation bracket gets the first pick next year.
Pretty amazing parity this year, with all six playoff teams finishing at 8-5.
2nd. Only the consolation winner goes out of order; rest is in reverse order of finish (although I can’t remember offhand if the 1st team in the regular season standings picks last or if the champion does).
Damn - I was 10 points away from a bye. That’s really amazing parity. How many individual choices would have flipped that? I hate my matchup this week - that bye would have been really nice! It’s been a fun season so far.
