Draft Order:
Nine Inch Neils
No Use For a Name
Carcosa Yellow Kings
Fourth and Nineteen
Ottoman Empire
HungryHungryHaruspex
Varlos’ Zzzzzzz
Exploding Pancakes
Fightin’ Quakers
Spiritus Mundi
Baltimore Weirdos
Omnipotents
Crabby Hermits
Moridwon (Hamlet)

Keeper eligible players to be posted soon(ish).

Additionally, for convenience sake, the rules for draft order are:

Draft Pick Last Year's Finish
    1 14
    2 13
    3 12
    4 11
    5 1
    6 2
    7 3
    8 4
    9 10
    10 9
    11 8
    12 7
    13 6
    14 5

Here are the eligible keepers, as far as I can tell. I didn’t get a chance to see if anyone managed to drop and then later pick up the same player, causing them to have lost their keeper eligibility. There also didn’t appear to be any trades, which I don’t seem to recall - RNATB may know, he’s usually been the more active trader in the league. Without further ado…

The first number SHOULD be the round drafted, unless people had multiple picks in the same round. Can someone double check that for me and confirm?

I’m here. Been traveling a lot so woefully unprepared, but I a probably capable of repeating my mediocrity of recent years with similar lack of preparation and research.

Who is Randy Moss playing for this year?

Cool. I’ve been waiting to find out who I can keep. Roethlisberger for sure, I’ll decide on the rest.

I’m keeping Lamar miller and Julius thomas.

Keeping Tre Mason, Jeremy Maclin and LeVeon Bell.

Omni, Hamlet and whoever was HungryHungryHaruspex - you need to sign up.

Is Tuesday Sep 1 a solid draft day for this league? IIRC, this league usually drafts on labor day, and I, not realizing labor day came late this year, ended up scheduling the big league draft for that day, which is tough to move since we need agreement from 20 people. The NFL season starts late and that kinda screwed with the traditional draft dates for our leagues. My bad if I caused an issue there. Although I don’t see any reason drafting on Sep 1 would be a problem.

If people need more time, I’m happy to move it to the Tuesday before the season starts. In fact, that’d be preferable to me, because I just found out the in-laws are in town the week before…

What is the league number/password. I can’t find the invite on my yahoo account.

Did we change the rules for draft order last year? I thought the winner of the consolation bracket got the first pick…

Also here’s a correct link to last year’s threadMunch’s link goes to the league page.

Yeah - I believe that’s right. In fact, haven’t we always done that?

If we’re discussing the draft ordering system, I’m going to re-iterate an argument I’ve made in the past.

I’m okay with giving the consolation bowl winner top pick (or some other high pick) as a reward. It makes the consolation bowl with something, sure, whatever. What doesn’t make sense to me at all is giving all the consolation bowl losers top picks too. Why do the three people who lost the consolation bowl deserve to draft #2-4? You don’t need to reward the losers to make being the winner worth playing for. It just serves to screw up the parity reverse draft order system.

So I propose if we’re going to keep the consolation bowl winner reward, we simply award only the winner with the #1 pick and do the rest in reverse order of standings.

I started the draft pick system that way when I was commissioner because I saw it being done in other leagues and it seemed a way to avoid the pitfall of someone tanking their season to get the top draft pick the next year, and it gave the consolation bowl an added edge.

I’m not opposed to change, so whatever the majority likes will do.

If I keep Matt Ryan, he would be my number one pick. Not sure I should do that.

Ditto, not seeing an invite or any way to join. Seems like Yahoo is being a weird this year, had the same issue with the All-Pro league.

EDIT: Searched my inbox and found it. Not sure why the Yahoo homepage didn’t recognize me.

I don’t think I’m keeping anyone. Man, I suck at the “keeper” part of this keeper league.

Keeping Ingram, Tate and Boldin (sounds like a law firm). None are outrageous steals where they are but seem to be value.

Also I think we need to recruit an owner - in the other thread someone (JulesAndre?) said they wouldn’t be back.

Alright, we’re a team down - I’m bumping the draft by one week. It’s not fair to whoever replaces the odd man out to not have a chance at trades, keepers, etc. Please let me know if you have any issues with this. Apologies to all.
