I’m here, hoping to actually draft a team this year. No keepers planned.
Either day works for me. Keeping only Chubb in the 5th
So can we get a decision? Monday is now tomorrow, and it would be good to know whether/when we will be drafting.
I’ve been trying to get ahold of Wilson via PM and email. He hasn’t responded.
I’m going to keep dk Metcalf, Hardman, Brown.
My other league drafts Monday so Tuesday would be better.
Sorry! Been out of touch for a while… Thanks Munch for all you’ve done so far in terms of putting together the eligible keeper list.
Let me go look if I can get a slot for tomorrow night (Tues).
Draft set for 9pm eastern tomorrow (Sep 8th).
I had to move the keeper deadline up to tomorrow.
I think we’ve heard from most everybody…
No keepers for me.
The commish is setting our keepers, right? Not ourselves? The “set keepers” checklist item on the league page is grayed out for me and I don’t see anywhere to set it ourselves.
Pretty sure it has to be the commish, as Yahoo doesn’t support our two round bump rule for keepers. Will get them in later this afternoon.
You can plug keepers into that, but it doesn’t process our “minus 2 rounds” rule.
OK, draft order is set, and all keepers have been put in in the appropriate round. Please feel free to check my work!
I don’t have keeper declarations for two owners - Post Mahomes and The Quack Attack. I don’t remember who those are, to be honest… is one of them Sir T-Cups?
Yes, one is me and one is Mrs cups, neither of us want any keepers
Anyone else completely unprepared for Fantasy this year? No pre-season means the regular season really snuck up on me.
Yup, totally unprepared as well. I’ll probably just stick to drafting names I know - like LaDainian Tomlinson and Torry Holt.
With the 2nd pick of the draft, I select Lamar Jackson.
I’m also almost entirely unprepared this year. This will easily be the lowest effort I’ve put into fantasy in the last 16 years or so.
I usually have the best keepers in this league, but a bunch of my good ones (Alvin Kamara and Chris Carson in like the 5th through 11th the last couple of years) exceeded their 3 year eligibility at the same time and I had to start from scratch. I only did okay this year.
How your keepers affect your draft will be very interesting. Do you completely ignore WR most of the time, since you have 3 already? Or do you just bank their value, and draft normally?
I think the league has caught up to the keeper game - we’re putting a lot of value on youth during the draft, and their value as a keeper gets diminished as a result. There’s only 4 RBs being kept in total, and one of them is just a fringe starter (but still great value to keep). There’s also 4 QBs being kept, which I think is more than normal. Maybe it’s just really cyclical.
My WRs definitely aren’t good enough to forego drafting better WRs. I was borderline on even keeping Hardman, but I figure he’s kind of a lottery ticket where if anyone important ahead of him goes down he could be very productive because of that KC offense.
Metcalf I think can probably be a WR2, Brown is very very boom or bust, I don’t know what to make of him.
So I definitely won’t be skipping drafting a WR early, but the keepers may keep me more flexible in the mid-rounds where I don’t have to worry about filling up the flex or having backup WRs so much. None of them are team-changing keepers like I usually have, just guys that are better than the draft pick I’d have if I didn’t keep them.
