He Hate Me Keeper League 2020 - Year 18

Miami put up 30 just two weeks ago… on my bench… in a game I lost by less then 10 points.

That was a tough loss to Disgruntled Goats. But looking over his roster, I have to say he’s done an amazing job in free agency this season. I completely screwed up my flex spot, not realizing that the Colts played on Thursday, and having 2 Dolphin RBs slated to start for me - ugh, that’s disappointing. Hopefully there’s enough time to scratch my way back up. Lamar Jackson’s big an enormous disappointment - I should have kept Murray, but who would have guessed a 6th Rd Murray would be a better value than a 12th Rd Jackson?

Two weeks ago I was heading for a bye; then I lost two games in a row to playoff teams and now I’m just hanging on.

It’s a tight race this year with a lot of teams doing pretty well. The last few playoff slots may go down to the final week.

I haven’t been in this league that long but I’ve had a history of having the best/one of the best teams in the regular season just to have a bad week during championship week and I’d really like to finally get a championship this year. My team is pretty well balanced (except TE) but without Russell Wilson playing out of his mind I’m not dominating like I was earlier this season.

Tonight I have a 10.07 point lead over Fourth and Nineteen and he has the TB defense (against the rams) left to play. So if he scores 10 or under, I’ve got it, but it should be a close one.

Here’s something odd: last night yahoo projected the TB defense to score 8.16 (I think, it was roughly 8.2) points. It had me as a 60/40 favorite. Now, today, it projects the TB defense to score 12.16 points and has me at a 40/60 underdog. What could’ve possibly changed from last night to tonight to alter TB’s projection?

Yeah, I noticed the same thing, except that I think they had TB DEF at around 12 projected points early on Sunday.
My advice is - don’t bother to try to make sense of Yahoo’s projections

Ugh, I am so fucking annoyed. I started an out Deandre Swift in my flex spot because I forgot Thanskgiving football starts at fucking 9am on the west coast and didn’t get up to check his status in time. And I had several perfectly good flex options like David Montgomey. Blah. I also would’ve started Jordan Reed over Akins, but at least Akins isn’t out.

Yeah, you’re screwed this week - that sucks. I meant to swap Cooper and Jones, because I don’t think Julio plays on Sunday, and could use flex a little bit more…flexibly with Jones there instead of in a WR slot. It wasn’t until the 2nd game yesterday when I realized I had any players going.

Sorry for all the adds/drops this week - I’ve had too much time on my hands.

I need to do a contingency play because of the Steelers/Ravens game. My priority is the Steelers Defense, but if they don’t play, the 49ers are on my bench.

Very subject to change, but I’m putting in a contingency as well - if BAL doesn’t play, sub in Boston Scott for Gus Edwards. I may end up starting Mostert instead - really hard to get a read on whether he will play.

His Instagram says he’s playing. Raheem Mostert on Instagram: "It’s Gameday! Time to pickup where I left off!! #ImBack"

I got utterly fucked yesterday. Justin Tucker put up 2 points, by far his worst score of the season. It was nominally a bad matchup but those are typically not predictive for kickers since they may actually do better against good defenses (more FGs, fewer XPs). At the same time, Gus Edwards scored at TD for only the fourth time all season (for Fourth & Nineteen), which was exactly what it took to sink me since I lost by less than 1.5 points.

I’m projected to win this week and hold on to the 6th seed, but I suddenly have a bunch of injuries and crappy matchups.

Yeah, that was quite the matchup. And a LONG one… from Thanksgiving day to Wednesday afternoon! I started on a high when Watson had four TDs, then I realized you had Will Fuller.

Then during the week I had to bench my WR2 and TE since both were Broncos with no quarterback - thankfully my replacements held up well.

Also my star WR and RB each had less than 6 points. Turns out my third highest scorer was my kicker, which is usually not a good plan.

I never thought Tucker would only get 2 points - I thought my only hope was if Gus Edwards pulled off a 15 point game with the other RBs for BAL out. Instead, he sucked and I only won because of that short TD run.

Post Mahomes has Gronk starting and no other TE rostered. I’d suggest dropping the Denver D and picking up someone from the late games.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll swap in L. Thomas when I can.

Crap - I just made a bunch of edits on Quack, not Mahomes. I’ll fix it.

I’ve only been in this league for 3 years, but I find it interesting that this week I got 39 points from the NE D playing the Chargers as well as zero points from the Chargers kicker due to the shutout.

I’m sure weird quirks like this have happened before in a league that’s been around so long, but it’s still kind of an interesting score disparity.

I don’t even pay attention to the kicker slot except to try to get one that kicks at home in a dome or warm weather climate.

If my math is right, I’m going to hold on to 6th over @Munch in a tiebreak by less than a point in total points scored. Wow.
I was ahead of him by a 3.02 in points scored coming in to this week, and he outscored me by 2.36. RNATB gets 5th; Munch, motu and I tie at 7-6 for 6th but I win the tie break.
Unless I missed something.

Yeah, I don’t want to talk about it.

What a hell of a finish! I managed to over-manage myself for several weeks now, and have left more points on the bench trying to be clever than I ever should have been. Great season - you earned it.

You know the old saying, if you have six running backs, you have none…

I totally forgot our playoffs start a week earlier now, and didn’t think about this week determining the playoffs. I’d have written up something about the possibilities if I had.

I’m going to retain the first seed (and top score) but my team is not peaking right now and I’m not too optimistic about the playoffs. My team was a powerhouse earlier when everyone was healthy and Russell Wilson was lighting it up, but he’s been just solid lately. I’ve still got as good a chance as anyone I think, but I don’t have the edge I would’ve had early in the season.
