HE is gay? Who the hell woulda thunk it...

Actually, I believe there are two diametrically opposing meanings to “Woof!”, depending on voice tone.

Which the poster you quote meant is unknown.

Oops! Apparently Jillian didn’t have her choice of Alice Dodds.

No mention of George Clooney in 5 pages?? I heard one of those “friend of a friend” tales which was supposed to be kosher, but…

I thought exactly the same thing…

Shit…as a straight woman, I’d have to agree.

Whoa—you got me confused about Audra Lindley. I knew she was the lady in Three’s Company, but she seemed too old to be married to James Whitmore Jr. She was married to his dad.

Okay, just had to settle that. Carry on.

Johnny Mathis came out? Wow. I would never have guessed, myself.

No, I’m saying I’m a dog, and she just gave me a bone.

I’ve tried to read every post, so forgive me if I’m duplicating anything here.

What about Claudette Colbert? I was watching the movie Midnight the other night, and it reminded me of a rumor I once heard.

Man, gay or not, I’d give anything to smooch with Don Ameche.

Besides a direct quotation?!

Jesus, “innocent until proven queer” was bad enough, but now we’re not even accepting signed confessions?

Saw Mathis live in Atlantic City, last year. Half way through the act, he introduced his ‘special friend’ (the name eludes me…no one famous) The gentleman played a few solo songs on a guitar while Johnny looked on lovingly, caressed his shoulder, and led him off stage after his bit with a kiss on the cheek. They are evidently, veryclose.

Have you?

I was unaware that you possessed a posthumous telepathic link with him. Or have you been practicing necromancy in the graveyards of Washington State?

To my knowledge, Cobain only ever made one statement about his sexual orientation. I have quoted and linked it above. I don’t know of anything else he said that contradicts it, or anything in his life that suggests otherwise.

Of course, Elton John got the same “only-doing-it-for-attention” accusations when he came out, too, and, sadly, Kurt’s not here to clear up the matter.

I can fight vague impression with vague impression, of course: you may see him as a lying, attention-getting teen, while I (who was a big Nirvana fan circa Grade 12, and still am) think there’s quite a queer sensibility to his music. However, we have Kurt’s word on the subject, and absent any evidence to the contrary, we should probably take it.

Geez. If it required as much evidence to prove to some of you people that a celebrity was heterosexual as it did to prove one was homosexual or bisexual, we would have to conclude that all of Hollywood, LA, and the music industry was chaste and virginal, that all babies born to a star were conceived through artifical insemination, and all relationships set up PR people.

– Hamish (currently listening to Nirvana’s “Rape Me” and googling for that famous picture of Kurt in cheerleader-drag)

Sorry- ignore the above. I was using the reply screen for making notes of URLs for a (non Dope) thing I’m writing and in trying to log out resurrected a long dead overpopulated thread.

Yeah that is odd. The fact that the band is named Queen, and also that in one of their music videos they are cleaning house in ballerina tutus should have tipped anyone off. Not to mention the moustache.

Jayne is gay!!??

No, Agnes Robertson Moorehead.

Which reminds me. A female friend of mine once lamented that she feels sorry for Brian May, being the only straight member of a band named “Queen.”

Well, Freddie’s pretty well-documented. But what about the others in the band?

Roger Taylor: father of four children.
John Deacon: father of six children.

Thanks, Walloon. I’m not a big fan of the band, so I figured I’d defer to someone else.
