HE is gay? Who the hell woulda thunk it...

Many things Sampiro says will be the funniest thing you or I have read in a long time. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think the Bryan Batt /Patrick Stewart thing can be resolved post Mad Men! Sigh. I miss Sal.

Great. Now we have to debate whether or not to legalize zombie marriage.

“No, if anyone orders Merlot, I’m leaving. I am NOT drinking any fucking Merlot!”

James Randi came out recently.

A little over a year ago, actually, but I do agree that I never even thought about him being…well, a sexual creature at all, honestly.

He’s just so…professory.

Ahem, in some cultures the left hand is considered unclean. You wipe with it, but you don’t eat with it.

The Latin root for left is “sinister”

So, it’s not a small leap to make left-handed shitty.

James Randi is cool. I wasn’t really familiar with him 'til now.

As I said back in 2004, I’m terrible at this “who’s gay” thing.

So I was surprised when I recently found out that Amber Heard is gay.

I was completely surprised. Most of the others in this thread–when I knew who they were–weren’t surprising to me. NPH, for some reason, was. Perhaps b/c I hadn’t seen him in anything after Doogie when I heard and hadn’t conceived of him as an adult yet?

Also–sorry for my laziness here, but I didn’t note who linked to the Eddie Izzard-Henry Rollins interview, but thanks for that. Good read.

ROTFLMAO! Sampiro, I love you. I think I’ve read every damn thing you’ve ever posted on the Dope. You, sir, are a wordsmith without peer!

With regard to the OP: the utterly gorgeous and talented John Barrowman broke my heart when I found out he was gay, because dear god, let’s face it, the man is ‘sex on legs,’ to quote one memorable poster on Youtube.

Catherine Tate said it best: “why are all the good men always on the other bus!”

At least it was in response to a poster who’s actually still here after all this time. (Which is kinda remarkable, come to think of it. Or sad. You choose. :D)

And I’d be just the man to make it:

“Brains? They’re not in season…”

Alternately:

“Brains… braised brains… braised brains in a nice burgundy sauce…”

Esprix, a gay zombie himself around here these days…

Not only was Agnes Moorehead not gay, she was a rather unpleasant, homophobic religious fanatic. I don’t imagine she palled around a lot with the rest of the *Bewitched *cast.

You need to start an “Ask the Gay Zombie” thread.
Welcome back.

Regards,
Shodan

Esprix and Eve in a zombie thread, but their posts aren’t zombie posts - it’s a good day on the Straight Dope.

Esprix is back! Huzzah!

Yeah, that (like Cary Grant’s bisexuality) has been sufficiently debunked that I’ll recant and regret any repetition of it. I’m not sure where the lesbian rumors about her started but they’re very prevalent and have been around at least since her lifetime, but apparently there’s no evidence for them beyond “heard from my friend’s cousin who does Debbie Reynold’s swimming pool that…” chain.

And of course Boze Hadleigh, who I think now claims that Elvis, Ronald Reagan, Joe Dimaggio, and six of the Munchkins from WIZARD OF OZ all came out to him (on the proviso of course he not tell anybody until they were conveniently dead).

You’re letting your wish fulfilment fantasies get out of control.

If you ever visit the u.k. you will be very, very disappointed.

This summer, as I lay in a hospital with tubes coming out of me in painful places, unable to sleep, I read through this zombie thread and was mightily entertained in the wee hours of the morning. Couldn’t talk, but texted my husband some juicy tidbits. Thank you all for making part of that hospital stay memorable. Carry on.
