Ditto for his buddy Carl Reiner, though neither man fits the thread.
One who does: Author John Le Carre.
Just heard on NPR that Tab Hunter is no longer with us. He was 86. I think they said he died yesterday.
Hugh Downs is 97.
He got a degree in gerontology back when he was hosting Over Easy, a show about aging - that was '77-'83.
I heard he was killed in the library, with the revolver. I forget who, though.
I keep thinking that Wayne Newton is dead, and I’m always depressed when I realize that it’s Robert Goulet who has died. In one of my favorite random encounters ever, I passed Goulet on a street in Louisville, Kentucky one December. I went back to verify it was him (even asking him to be sure), and we chatted for about 10-15 minutes. He was in town doing a touring production of something scheduling conflicts denied me the opportunity to see.
No disrespect intended towards Wayne Newton, of course. But I met Goulet, so it always bums me out when I remember he’s passed on.
Just 1,908 years to go.
She’s still alive. Ann Jillian - IMDb
I am obviously not a Star Wars fan, I was shocked this morning to hear that Billy Dee Williams was still alive. I was sure he was dead eons ago.
While Bob Newhart is still alive at 89, his Big Bang character Professor Proton is not.
She’s not dead. I’ve seen her. She has absolutely gorgeous skin. It’s really unbelievable.
Science fiction author and editor James Gunn is still alive at 94 (he’ll be 95 in two days). If he makes it one more year, he can celebrate the 70th anniversary of his first sale.
Professional prankster Alan Abel who, among his other accomplishments, has gotten The New York Times and the New York Daily News to print his obituary more than once back in the '80s is still alive at age 93. I thought he had passed away years ago.
So did the New York Daily News.
When he actually does die, the papers will demand to see the body.
And still with us at 103!, Norman Lloyd
Isn’t this where /
we came in?
“OMG Kevin Nash? WTF? Thought he was dead, LOL!”
When looking up unrelated but still mundane data (EGOT winners if you must know), I learned this morning that Harry Belafonte is still alive at 91.
Cool! I’d love to invite him over for dinner, just so I could send my gf the text.
Herman Wouk, author of The Caine Mutiny and The Winds of War is still going at 103.
