He (or she) is alive...........

Jerry Lee Lewis (82) and Brenda Lee (73) will be performing in Lincoln Ca at the end of August. I thought they were both dead.

I’d have sworn that Jerry Lee Lewis was dead. Maybe we’re all conflating him and Jerry Lewis.

Ernest Borgnine

Dead, 2012. Huh. 95 years old.

Ed Asner.

Alive. Yeesh, did that guy ever not look old?

I vaguely thought that Bernie Kopell was dead. I mean, the guy looked like he’d been around the block on THE LOVE BOAT, and that was forty years ago; heck, he looked like he’d been around the block on GET SMART, and that was fifty years ago.

85 and still up and around, apparently.

Betty white is actually older than sliced bread.

(Actually, anyone over 90 is older than sliced bread - so, anyone over 90 like Dick Van Dyke, Stan Lee, Kirk Douglas, Henry Belafonte, etc.)

I know that Carol Channing is still alive at 97 because I had a recent run-in with her.

For some reason, the name Wilford Brimley came to mind, although I can’t remember the last time I thought of, or heard anything about, the 83-year-old actor. But he’s still alive.

I hope you’re both ok.

Writer Herman Wouk is still alive. He is 103.

Larry Storch and Ken Berry vying to be the last of F Troop.

Whoops, looks like if either of them go, James Hampton as Trooper Dobbs can blow an ear-breaking version of Taps over their grave.

For some reason I thought that after the Professor died that Mary Ann (Dawn Wells) was the last remaining castaway.
Looks like Ginger is still going strong too.

Ed wrote the foreword for my upcoming book on classic sitcoms.

Actor Terry Carter who was Sgt Joe Broadhurst in “McCloud” and Colonel Tigh in the first “Battlestar Galactica” is 89. Terry Carter may be the last principal actor left from “Phil Silvers/Sgt Bilko”, appearing in in 91 out of 143 episodes.

Earlier today, I was watching a bit of Casino Royale on TV, the absurd, 1967 version. I saw the bit where Mata (Joanna Pettet) goes to the spy school in East Berlin, then turned the TV off. Hours later, I wanted to see if there was anything good on, and when the TV came on it was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, at a part with the Baron and Baroness, and I realized the same actress (Anna Quayle) was in both scenes, and both movies were based on Ian Fleming books.

As luck would have it, there was a rerun of an old black-and-white Password on one of the old game-show channels tonight with Sally Anne Howes, the female lead in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

According to Wikipedia, Howes (87) is still alive, as are Dick Van Dyke (92), Anna Quayle (85), and Joanna Pettet (75).

Surprised to see that Henry Kissinger is still alive at age 95.

Rich Little was part of an answer in a crossword puzzle over the weekend. I had to look him up to see if he was still alive. Yep!

Tommy Chong

Big Fish was on the other day (great film), and I could have sworn Albert Finney had died. Looked it up, though, and nope, still swimming.
