Hearts of Space

I’m listening to Hearts of Space on my local public radio station. I love this program. It puts me in a certain mood… I don’t know, I feel very, well, out of place when I listen to it… like I really belong in some strange other world.

It’s kind of hard to describe, but maybe you know what I’m talking about.

Anyone else like this program?

I love that program and have a couple of years worth of them on cassette.

Marry me? When I was a kid, I used to fall asleep listening to either that or Dr. Demento. I still listen when I get a chance. Great stuff.

Ahh, but you would just be using me for my Hearts of Space tapes and my Dr Demento radio show lps I swiped from the radio station I used to work for.

What’s Dr. Demento?

sputters

Dr. Demento

I feel old.

Wow, that sounds very cool. I don’t think he airs on any stations around here though.

:frowning:

Love “HOS”, but the stooooooopid local public radio station moved it from 9 pm Saturday to 11 pm Saturday, immediately followed by BBC World News.

Not that BBC is bad, but I don’t like to be jarred out of a comfy, snuggly aura of warmth and contentment by news reality, at least not at midnight when I am trying to sleep off the day. At least before they switched it, HOS was between two segments of “Echoes”, so there was some nice music there. Ya think they could follow up with some overnight classical music, especially since they play another segment of BBC news at 6 am. Sheesh.

No, I’ve read some of the threads you’ve participated in, and I know you have other “assets.”

I used to fall asleep to HOS, but our local station changed over to “Echoes” which is similiar but not quite the same.

If I won the $300M powerball lottery this week, I’d take the time to learn how to make those beautiful soundscapes. Sweet sweet music.
